mia or mya

i want to call her Mia, oh doesnt like it but agreed on Mya..

initially, i want a spelling that looked like Mya but i could still call her Mia

any ideas

Would you be pronouncing mya....me-ah or my-ah?
I'm not keen on odd spellings of names so I would stick with either Mia or mya, or could you elongate it to use Mia as a nickname? Something like Amelia?

I prefer Mia, I think it's really pretty
The only problem with using Mya but keeping the pronounciation as Mia is that you and your DD will have to recorrect people everytime!

i would definitely just spell it mia if you want it to be pronounced 'me-a' as mya to me would be pronounced 'my-a' which is a totally different name!

Thats a hard one, i think i would look at prolonging the name and using Mia as a nickname;
