Hi, I think I posted this in the wrong forum before.
Has anyone had a heterotopic pregnancy b4, I just found out I may have one and am a complete mess.
I found out last week I was officially pregnant after suffering a mmc in January at 13 weeks.
My LMP was on 29 May and I'm 5-6 weeks along. I have had multiple blood tests and my HCG is rising as it should.
Blood test ( 1st one taken the day my period was due (I'll call it day 1)
Day 1: hCG 87 (late in day)
Day 3: HCG 210 (early in day)
Day 5: HCG 951 (early in day)
Day 8: HCG 5961 (late at night)
From 'day 1' I have had constant cramping in my lower abdomen, concentrated more on my left and back pain. On Thursday night (Day 8), I got some very slight spotting, so went to the hospital, they thought mc or ectopic and did an internal check. They said my cervix was closed, but there was some blood on the wall, they had a feel and sent me home to come back the next day for a transvaginal scan; this was yesterday.
Yesterday at the scan; As I was only 5+3 days they said they probably wouldn't be able to see anything. The OB found what is most likely a sac, about 5 weeks along, but obviously too early to see a heart beat or know for sure. He then noticed my right ovary seemed 'bulky' and became marginally concerned that I also have a pregnancy in my RIGHT tube... I was surprised; as my LEFT side hurt! Anyway he said heterotopic pregnancies are VERY unlikely, he just wants to be careful. So I go back in on Mon morning (just 3 days later) for another scan.
He said if there is one in the tube, they will do surgery on Mon to remove that part of the tube. But the one in the uterus may still be ok. He's not certain I have a heterotopic, but concerned as it doesn't look normal and wants to be careful.
I cried through the whole consultation and once home started to feel cramping on my right - ;-( I'm hoping it's just my mind... But it has continued today, so giving me less hope.
Does anyone have any experience? I'm in desparate need of advice and I'd love some positive storie as wells!!! Especially if you had the same diagnosis, but the OB was wrong or you still managed to carry the other baby. ANY help would really help, I'm a bit if a mess. Thank you xo
