I don't know as we are TW, but if your LO has been having quite alot of food then maybe they will miss it if you switch because from I've seen BLW babies don't actually 'eat' that much till later on. But you could give finger foods along side TW which is what I do. Give him his meal then after give him some finger foods to try.

You could just completely switch and if it doesn't work, just switch back again x

Good idea.. Thanks:flower:
What types of finger foods do you give?

So far he's had toast, cucumber sticks, carrot sticks ( boliled so there soft) and melon cut into long strips. We only started giving finger food a few days ago so not had much yet. Sure I saw a sticky thread on finger foods x

I've mostly been TW too but recently bought the Gill Rapley book on BLW so have started trying more finger foods. My interpretation of what she says in her book, is to keep giving usual purees but to add finger food too and most babies will naturally prefer to feed themselves so will reduce the amount of pureees they eat. So far I've given mango pieces, cucumber slices, yellow pepper and some savoury snacks like rice cakes and ella's kitchen biscuits. From looking on BLW threads on here, it looks like roast or boiled vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes etc are a big hit - especially if you do these in chip-sized pieces so LO can hold them. I'm also going to check out recipes for BLW fishcakes, carrot cake and omelettes as these all sound fun and nutritious. So far, LO seems to quite like finger food which is giving me the confidence to be a bit more adventurous. Have fun and hope it goes well!

What I should have said is, the bit from Gill Rapley book I mentioned, relates to people who have started TW but want to move to BLW

Mines a little older now 10months but we've tried banana, strawberrys, carrots, colliflower, brocili, toast, sanwhiches and occasionally onion rings, chips, chicken nuggets and pizza. Bad things in moderation. Trial and error if it doesn't work wait a month or two

We did TW, but just moved from jars, to mashed, to soft things cut in non-choking hazard size ti slightly bigger things (now at 10 months) she eats everything fish, spaghetti noodles (I break them in 1" ish pieces before boiling) eggplant and sauteed squash.

Id never heard of BLW until BNB and they had me so scared my TW baby was never going to eat food because Ive ruined her with purees- it just isnt true, my kid loves anything and everything. Textures, whole pieces she bites off and feeds herself! We had no transition problems from purees to finger foods at all.
