mum and baby groups**eurgh rant moan**

Eugh..... i HATE mum and tot groups, ive hated them with all of my kids!!
Its made worse cuz i live on a posh estate with all snobby mums that drive their bloody gas guzzling top of the range cars when they live 2 bloody streets away, they all sit their in their poxy clickky groups talking about this designer pair of shoes or their baby being so bloody perfect at everything... MEH!!!
I took dylan to tumble tots which wasnt too bad but he goes to pre school now instead... i need to start going to some sort of coffee morning thing or something otherwise i will become a recluse in my little bubble at home!!!
You should start a group x

Hi!

Sorry to hear you didn't like the group. Try a few different groups to see which one you like - they are all different. I remember I went to one in which there seemed to be about a hundred mums with toddlers. Obviously the mums were really busy and did not have time for a new mum with a baby, so I felt like I was just on my own with no-one to talk to. I then attended a few other groups in which I met some fantastic mums from all different walks of life and with different experiences. Some are going back to work full time in big jobs in Edinburgh and others are stay at home mums. I think when you go to groups like this, you have to accept that you will meet people that you might not normally have a bond with and that you might not normally hang about with. However, I would try and avoid just seeing the differences and worrying about whether they are judging you or not. They are probably just getting used to being a mum as well and are probably worrying themselves that they are doing the right things. Also, just because someone has a full time job does not mean that they would look down on someone who has tattoos and stuff - and you never know their past? I am a teacher, but I was a bit of a rock chick in my time!!! Once you get to know people, you might find that you have more common links than you think despite the age difference.

Good luck!
