Mutiple mc test

Hi,

I have not posted on here since xmas, although i check my signature weekly (I know its stupid), but i need some advice if any one is able to give it.
next month, i start tests to see why i keep miscarrying, i have not dicussed what will happen with my doctors yet, as i was still in shock, and devistated when i was told that i would need them ( I was having my 11 week pregnancy with twins induced). does any one know what i am going to have done and what to expect, i dnt care how painful, because nothing could be worse than loosing my 7th baby, 6 angels is MORE than enough!

Hi Hun,

I just had testing done Jan 16th. I had buckets blood drawn and was asked loads of questions about me and oh's family medical history( going back to grandparents). I was gonna have genetic testing (karyo typing- where they map out all the chromosomes on your and oh's blood to see if there are any anomalies) but due to Scotrail's incompetence OH never made it to the hospital

As it happes the specialty nurse didnt think i would need genetic testing, due to my history she suspects a bloodclotting issue. But i can have it if i want- or i might if nothing comes back positive...

Anywhoo.. they're testing my kidney, liver and thyroid function, iron and folic acid levels, two blood tests for antibody levels in the blood and possibly something else..it was a lot, lol!

Im back the 20th Feb to get test results and i was told i shouldnt ttc under any circumstance as i will need treatment to keep any pg. Ive got fingers crossed- for both of us!!

HI Omi, thank you so much for your reply, I can only answer half my family history, i have no contact with my father or his family! so only my moms side! Also I am no longer with my babies farthers ( last pregnancy was a different guy to the rest) so i am unable to answer about them!
i am petrafied of needles! so this is going to be hell for me, but if it means i finally get to hold a baby of my own then i will do it.
i wish you all the luck, as i know how heartbreaking, frustrating, soul distroying it is for this to happen time and time again, xxxxx

Sweetheart, it really wasnt that bad. i think it all depends on the nurse who draws your blood. She used one big(!) syringe ( not a big needle..i could barely feel it..tiny pinch and boom) to take the lot, and then poured it into the different samples to go off for testing, all colour coded and whatnot.

Dont worry. I didnt have my OH there and i answered as many questions as i could - i think i did well. Seeing as this is a re-current problems un-related to a partner it is quite possible (possible insomuch as i could ever know withput testing or being a medical expert ) you could have something that interfers with your pregnancies. have a look at this... https://www.repro-med.net/tests/stest.php

Dont worry hun..it could be nothing or something easy to fix. In my case, if i actually come up positive for blood clotting its baby aspirin and heparin shots since day one of pg (a blood thinner) yay- not. But if it'll give me a baby- what the eff do i care, lol!!

Take good care and honestly, dont worry, it was, allthings considered, super easy and i felt upon leaving quite inviogorated, despite it all!
