34 weeks and my little squidgy is breech i asked the midwife if its common and its not :( i did want a c section not anymore i prefer natural birth. has anyone else baby was breech around this time and they flipped? i got a scan on the 27th august and then consultant again not long, i read the spinning babies page but i cant do the positions as i find them really uncomfortable. i kinda just want to leave it to him to move but he might need some help.
what do you ladies think?

update!

well i got up today with no pelvic pain but i still feel a hard lump at the top and the movements are all over the place top, middle, bottom. i cant figure out if he flipped or not. well i felt my lower tummy yesterday to see if he flipped then it was hard and wide but when i felt it this morning its like there nothing there no hardness but im not professionally trained to figure out if his head down. when i lay down im not so out off breath and i been really nesting too and i can tidy without feeling i ran a marathon. so do you think he flipped? i wont know until 27th

I went for my 30 week u/s and baby was breech. I went for the 36 week u/s to confirm breech so they could set up an ECV and the baby was still breech. I went to to the doctor at 36w2d and breech. I woke up on 36w3d and I think that the baby has turned. I have to go back to the doctor next week and she can confirm. But I will tell you that it is so much more comfortable. Had the baby been like this all along I would have enjoyed the pregnancy much more.

I have been using a yoga ball a couple times a day, I rest my head on there and go on my knees. I found that it really helped when the babies head was causing too much rib pain. I am not saying that it helped turn the baby but it definitely helped the pain.

thats what i notice i got lower back pain and when i walk my left lower side really hurts and i can never get comfy at night anymore. I really hope he turns, all through the pregnancy he been so good but now he is being naughty. i hope your baby is head down :) you gave me hope :)

My baby was breech at 34 and 36 weeks - had a scan on Weds at 37+1 and baby is firmly head down. They can turn right up until labour although obviously as it gets tighter in there its more difficult. I was worried too but most babies do end up head down.

Hi! I can give you some hope.. My first was head down from about 32 weeks, but the next 3 babies all turned head down between 38-40 weeks. And I had natural births every time.
They can turn right up until labour. Fingers crossed your baby turns soon. Don't lose hope. xxx

My first was breech at 34 weeks and turned head down around 36/37 weeks.

Make sure you don't slouch when sitting. Sit slightly forward or sit on a birthing ball. Scrub floors etc if you can.

Sorry to come into the convo but did you do anything to get your babies to turn at that late stage? I'm 38+1 and baby is breech! I'd love it to move before my section date in just over a week!

My baby is breech and my section is on Wednesday!

At the John Radcliffe there is a specialist called Dr impey his success rate is amazing unfortunatly my bubba didn't turn but it didn't hurt either just relax

If you have any questions pm me x

I was told to avoid a birthing ball and didn't and now his bum is engaged in my pelvis it seems different advice is given everywhere but don't panic most babies do turn I just have a little monkey in there x

I tried all spinning babies moves
Swimming
Moxibustion
Refkexology nothing helped
ECV

They won't do anything in regards to turning him till between 36/37 weeks

My second bub was breach at 37+5 much to my surprise, I had an ECV which was successful and had her vaginally at 38+3, she was well behaved and stayed head down. I highly recommend giving the ECV a go, I was so pleased to avoid a c section, good luck!

thank you, i be gong to the JR too so i give it ago if he still breech. i think i might just leave him alone and if he turns he turns, im too scared to make it worse where he will get stuck. good luck for your c section i hope it goes well :) i think i now know if he has turned as i wont be in so much pain so sore to walk, you must be in so much pain Hayleyjj, well he got 12 days to turn as my next scan and consultant appointment on the 27th xx

I was told my baby was breech by a number of different midwives. Was told to try all the stuff to turn him so I did and then went for a scan at about 38 weeks and it turns out he wasn't breech.
Don't give up hope yet. And honestly, there are worse things in the world than having a ceserean. As long as baby is healthy that's all that matters.

i totally agree with you, as long me and squidgy comes out safe at the end i dont really mind but i was looking forward to my natural birth for once lol

I have come to the conclusion I have to do the safest thing which is a section. I'm booked in for just over a weeks time. Don't see any chance of this baby moving now. It's not what i hoped for either but I guess our babies have other ideas!!

thank you i really hope so as the top of my bump where his head was is squidgy and not rock hard. now how do i keep him there haha.

im glad that you doing the safest thing i would do the same, i try not to risk anything that could harm him and me especially losing my 5 month old daughter.

Sorry just realised your update was on page 1!! Hope baby has moved for you!!

Sounds like you are just as confused as I am. I woke up a couple days ago and I no longer felt that round baseball shaped head by my ribs and I had more room up there. I figured either the baby dropped or turned. We still can't feel the head but there is something round there. My husband has now convinced me the baby has dropped. I am still getting kicks in the same spot as I always have.

I will go to the doctor tomorrow and hope that she will be able to determine where the baby is but I have an ECV scheduled for Thursday.
