Finally got around to writing my birth plan.
Please can you let me know what you think or if I have missed anything.
BIRTH PARTNER:
Jason - Partner/Father.
LABOUR:
I would like to remain mobile and upright as much as possible.
I would like to use the birthing ball.
I am happy with students being present.
MONITORING:
I would like intermittent monitoring as I want to stay mobile for as long as possible. If the baby has shown signs of distress I will have continuous monitoring by whatever means is best for the baby.
PAIN RELIEF AND MEDICATION:
I have been offered an anti-sickness tablet. I would like to have this anti-sickness tablet.
I am happy for a cannula to be inserted as a precautionary measure.
I will be using my TENS machine as much as I can.
Secondly I would like to try gas and air.
Thirdly I would like to try Pethidine.
CEASAREAN:
I would like to avoid another caesarean unless the baby is in distress.
EPISIOTOMY:
I would prefer tear naturally than have an episiotomy unless advised otherwise.
I would like guidance when to push to allow the perineum to stretch and to reduce risk of the perineum tearing.
DELIVERY:
I would like to be on all fours or against the head of the bed when delivering the baby.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER DELIVERY:
I would like the cord to stop pulsing before the cord is cut.
My partner Jason DOES NOT wish to cut the cord - unless he changes his mind on the day.
I would like the injection to bring on the delivery of the placenta.
I would like to see the placenta.
I would like the baby to receive the Vitamin K injection.
I am planning on breast-feeding.
