Tips:
-Figure out how much you want to lose a week, and set your goal for that. If it's too hard to stick to the calorie goal, set the goal to a little less so you have more calories.
-Exercise so you can eat more!
-Don't try to completely eliminate things you enjoy; work on moderation and fitting it into your daily calories without going over.
-Find groups that match your interests, and join them to bond with other people also on a fitness journey. There are usually challenges being posted all the time, and I've found them to be a big motivator. (right now I'm doing a Game of Thrones based challenge, a Hunger Games based challenge, and "lose 15 lbs by Halloween" challenge)
-People on the forums can be a bit rough. Don't take it personally, they are like that to most people!
-If you really want to go all out, buy a food scale and weigh/measure everything you eat. I didn't find it was necessary and I've lost almost 40 lbs, but if you find that you're sticking to your goal and the weight isn't coming off, you might want to look into it.
There is a wealth of information on the forums too! Good luck with your journey. Take it one day and one pound at a time!
