My heart broke a little today :(

my biggest worry leaving joel outside is cats. they'd be straight in therw with him.

My only worry is wolves but there's no sign of them round here

haha. theres a few cats around here that are like permanantly desperate to get in to my house... we must smell like milk!

Wow where I'm from(Aussie and its never extreme cold here) I would NEVER in a million years leave my kids outside a shop in something as vulnerable as a pram!!i would take the baby out and leave the pram!!!too many things happen, too many times u hear of kids and babies being snatched and never seen again.especially such a small baby you never know why kind of desperate person is around and sees an opportunity.i just can't fathom it AT ALL.not to mention she must not have been watching otherwise she would have seen the two people standing around her baby and become concerned.i just can't wrap my head around this really I can't.i have copped flack from some cos I leave my kids safely strapped in the locked car while I pay for petrol and I keep an eye on the car the whole time.you can see it from anywhere in the petrol station and I run in and run out!i won't walk anymore than one arms distance away from my pram at any time at the shops ect.you can never be too careful.

We have a cat around here too but it avoids us, I think its half wild at least, it just goes around catching mice. But judging by the fact that the cat is still alive, and there's loads of rabbit tracks around the house, I don't think wolves come near :haha:

I wonder if there are statistics somewhere showing how many children are snatched from prams outside shops?

Personally I think it's dreadful

I think the no proper blanket and snowsuit is awful. Leaving baby outside a shop used to be normal here and maybe she lives in a part that is quite safe. I've seen people do it in London. Although I wouldn't do it personally!

We have bears around here and I only live in the suburbs, not a rural area. One came through my yard in November. Sadly a baby was killed about 10 years ago due to a bear attack after being left outside in a stroller. It was about an hour north of where I live.

Plus my baby doesn't even own a snowsuit. It's been fairly warm here this winter and I returned the heavy coat I bought her.

Poor baby :(
There's bears here too but they keep away from houses and people (I guess cos they're hunted it makes them wary). Maria is currently sleeping outside, its about -12 and she has a snowsuit, a sleeping bag and a blanket and is snug and warm :)

BAD MOMMY ALERT! Go in the bathroom and punch yourself in the face.

I kinda wish I could leave Corrine out.. She sleeps better when she's breathing cold air. That's why I make sure she is warm but keep the window open so she can have fresh, cool air.

Fresh air really knocks them out! She almost fell asleep sitting on the barn floor before I put her in the pram
Her doctor told me to sleep her outside actually.

She does sleep better... (hahaha... whatever THAT means) when she is breathing in cold air.

It only takes a couple of seconds for a child to be snatched wherever you live!

Remember Maddie Maccann? :nope:

She is a different circumstance entirely. The children were not even in the same building as the adults. But I agree it takes seconds.
It is highly irresponsible and neglectful and I wouldn't dream of it. That poor cold upset baby :(

What I meant was that it only takes seconds for a child to be taken. Maddy Maccanns parents were irresponsible and neglectful too?

That situation could have taken more than mere seconds, that is how I mean it is different. They were irresponsible, neglectful and selfish.

It was a rare never heard recently occurrence. We only have black bears here and they are generally less aggressive. But we're having an over population problem here with bear and deer leading to them being everywhere.

The fresh cold air is better for breathing. This recirculating heated inside air is horrible for your respiratory system.

Still, I live in New Jersey. I wouldn't leave anything outside I don't want stolen. My disabled mother had a pair of crutches stolen once from her back yard.

Wow stealing crutches?! Don't have to worry about that, I only have two neighbours and no one else for miles.

Nat- do you live in like the country? maybe here in the country with no neighbors, people may do it!!

Yeah right out in the sticks, any further into the country and I'd have to live in a tree house!
