My heart broke a little today :(

so you lay naked in the snow if you wanted to... Jelous :rofl

Thats so horrible!!! the poor thing - i see many prams "abandoned" in shops whilst the mothers are off browsing between tight clothes rails!!

I myself have a massive pram and if i cant fit through the clothes racks i don't bother. My LO is never out of my eyesight even for a second :-(

I am guilty of 'abandoning' my child in an isle then I guess?

I put the stroller in one place, and let go of it , to look at items, ill EVEN move around the sales rack :help:

I abandoned Maria with the till girl once. We're much more trusting here I guess.

I leave my daughter in my car with my dog. It's okay though because I park on an incline and make sure to leave the car in reverse.

:bunny:

That's only safe if your dog weighs more than 20 pounds (9 k to you Europeans) and does not wear a rhinestone collar.

 - OMG.. Make sure your dog is in a car seat ?!!!!! What are you thinkng.. how unsafe.

I can understand how in some cultures this is seen as the norm-it used to be so in the UK until the last few decades. And babies often sleep so much better with fresh air.

But do babies never get snatched in these countries where it is acceptable? I would just worry that there might be a "what if" risk.

In minus three weather the baby defo should have had more clothing on. Although the baby may have had lots of wooly layers on under the pram suit.

Omg boy have I taken my eyes off my 3yr old for a split second!!and that disappear so quick!especially in Kmart I don't know what it is but they are so easily hidden!i went there with a friend and her three yr old one day and our little devils disappeared and I said oh man they'r gone again,my friend just yells "Marco!" and we here a little voice pipe up one isle away "polo!" hahahahahahahaha.best.idea.ever!lol.i do that now and I get the funniest looks,it's safe and fun!haha.not relevant to the thread but felt like sharing

I only read through the first 5 pages....

I'm in the US, so as it's been said, it's illegal here. But to me it's common sense, I don't need a law to tell me it's unsafe. I would never even think of leaving any of my kids outside of a store while I went inside...not even my 8yr old and certainly not my baby. I live in a very safe area but it only takes one second, one person. It just isn't worth the risk IMO.

Maybe my views would be different if it was normal here or I lived somewhere very rural though.

Poor baby :(
There's bears here too but they keep away from houses and people (I guess cos they're hunted it makes them wary). Maria is currently sleeping outside, its about -12 and she has a snowsuit, a sleeping bag and a blanket and is snug and warm :)

BAD MOMMY ALERT! Go in the bathroom and punch yourself in the face.

I kinda wish I could leave Corrine out.. She sleeps better when she's breathing cold air. That's why I make sure she is warm but keep the window open so she can have fresh, cool air.

The punch yourself in the face part made me laugh!!

Bears? Holy crap. I'd be terrified at the thought of bears getting to my baby.

I'm sure it must happen here but rarely enough for people to consider it a risk. However its definitely not as common as it used to be so I think media etc has had its effects here too and made people think its more risky than it is.

in my country children are snatched and cut up for muti (especially boys for ther bits)
the very thought of leaving my child in a shop entrance just gives me chills

holy crap i wouldnt even leave my baby outside a toilet in public!!!
