We're planning to announce at Christmas, as I will be around 14-15 weeks, and Christmas Day is when we'll next see most of DH's family together. So we want something wrapped like a gift for them all to open at the same time.
The idea so far is to have a glass vial with a little bird/chick on top of a cork in the top of the vial, and a little nest with 3 eggs in inside the bottom of the vial. The cork will have a length of ribbon attached which will pull out from the vial, and the ribbon will have a printed message on with the announcement. The message I had originally planned didn't seem quite right, and I decided it would be best to have a little poem of some kind. I've come up with the below ideas but none of them seem quite right. I just wondered if anyone had any opinions on which of these was best, or could come up with a better one?
This little birdie has a secret,
We're over the moon,
To let you you know our newest chick
Is due to hatch in June xx
We sent a little birdie
With a big secret for you
To let you know
There's a new baby due! Xx
This little birdie comes with a secret,
You'll work it out very soon.
We're adding another chick to the nest,
Due to hatch in June xx
We sent this little birdie to say
There's a new little chick coming soon,
We're adding another to the nest,
Due to hatch in June xx
This little birdie has come to say
Phoebe's brother or sister is on the way!
We are all over the moon,
To announce our new chick will be hatching in June xX
Obviously it needs to be along the lines of birds/chicks/nest etc, and let them know there's a new little one due in June. Ideally it would be something that doesn't give the game away straight away so we can see them all trying to work it out as they read!
