Need to get things moving in new job but dont want to keep on at them!

So two and a half weeks ago i was offered a new job but i still have no idea when i will start and havent even had the paperwork. I emailed last week and the women was on compasionate leave, back in work this monday and i still havent heard. Thing is i already gave my notice at work so really need to get things started. I dont want to keep badgering this women especially when she has been on leave but i dont want her to forget about me either. What would you do?

I wouldn't email I would phone and be direct. If you are already working your notice period then it's perfectly reasonable to phone and ask for a start date

Ive spoken to her and she said she has filed the paperwork and HR will be in touch.
