They have shown what she would look like 'if' she is still alive...


I know,people have mixed feelings about this whole case..

I have thought from day 1,that the parents are more involved that they are letting on...I still fail to see how they haven't been charged with neglect..

I hope for Maddie's sake she is found..one day..but I don't hold out much hope..

I follow this case quite a lot. I really hope she gets found one day, alive and well, but the longer time goes on the more hope I lose. Seems to be some positive leads coming up though hopefully they will get somewhere.

I've read a lot of info surrounding the parents from both sides of the argument and I personally don't think they were involved, watching that documentary on the BBC today though it said that a lot of portuguese people think they were.

I don't agree with what the portugese ex cop did in making money from his book about it.

Yeah but it was dark, they recognised him from his 'stance' and they only came forward once the parents were named as suspects.

I haven't really been following it, obviously I know whats happened and what's going on but I don't have an opinion on what I think really did or didn't happen or who is involved................. It just upsets me that it's happened, and scares the life out of me that this could happen to anyone, or my LO. It's not worth thinking about!

I'd love to believe shes alive and well and it was just a kidnapping through sheer desperation of someone who wanted a child so much.

However, I don't think she's still alive & i think her parents are involved.

Nothing to do with money or anything like that. But a lot of people think she could have had an accident while they were out or as blah said it could have been accidental murder and the parents have covered their tracks and disposed of the body. It's all very complicated.

The whole case gives me chills tbh, I'm not sure where I stand on it really however I am leaning towards them having something to do with it, something just doesn't sit right with me. I'm also surprised they haven't been charged with neglect, if it were a young, unemployed/none professional couple then I do think it would have been different and they would have been forced to face the concequences of leaving their young children unnatended on top of dealing with the loss of one as well. I really hope she's alive and is out there somewhere but as more time passes it just doesn't seem feasible.

I dont think the parents wer involved. Theyr guilty of leaving their child alone in a building while they went for dinner but thats it to me
If someone took her and shes still alive, as she was still young she might have gotten used to and believed that the people who took her were her family, or maybe she's just be isolated away from the public? Id love to have her found one day. There has been kidnapped children who have been found 10+ years later so you never know

i thought blood was found in their car ? or the dogs smelt something, i cant remember exactly but from i read/watched something doesnt feel right where the parents are concerned.

why did the 'childsnatcher' take maddie, and not the younger child, one who has less of a memory iykwim
usually these things are random/not planned but spare of the moment, seizing an opportunity type thing,
was someone watching them the whole time, and lucky enough for them the parents decided to go out for a meal and leave the kids all alone, choosing not to opt for childcare............i dunno.

but then if she was accidentally murdered the body hasnt been found.

would the parents carry on with all this find maddie stuff if they knew she was dead

From what I remember her blood was found in the car they rented after she went missing and the dogs found the scent of a body. It also came out that the apartment had been scrubbed clean and rearranged before the police were called. The portugese detective said that so much information was brushed over by the british authorities. Very suspicious in my mind.

As lovely as it would be to find her alive and happy, I really don't think it'll happen. Its harsh but its probably kinder for her to not be alive now otherwise who knows what kind of things she has suffered/suffering, trafficking, pornography, slavery poor little girl, forced to pay the price for her parents mistakes.
