Next Fertility Appointment Tomorrow

well the title says it all really.

after 6 rounds of clomid still nothing, i am ovulating just not conceiving!! I am not sure what the next stage is going to be.

Can anyone advise what the next stage for them was after clomid??

I've been told if I don't conceive within 3-4 cycles this time (got a BFP after 3 cycles last year) I will need to get my tubes checked then not too sure from there.

Hi there, I believe you would be offered IUI and then IVF if clomid hasn't worked...not sure if you would be put on a waiting list thoughh....might depend on your age and how long you have been trying to conceive...do let me know what they say tomomrrow though! I have my first FU appointment tomorrow and hopefully I will be put on clomid after TTC for 2 and half years!!! It's been so difficult to get a dr to prescribe it....my gp wouldnt and the hospital wont until you have had ALL your tests done...I havent even seen a dr at the hospital yet, just 2 nurses .i think the tests are abit pointless as they always put you on it in that sequence usually.

Goodluck with tomorrow...really hope your coming to the end of your TTC journey and you get your BFP!!

well had my appointment this morning and i am booked in for a lap and dye for the 19th feb!! cant believe they got me in so quick. they also gave me another 3 months of tablets.

i am pleased things are moving on just nervous about the whole procedure. I am due to ovulate this month so fingers crossed this will be by month and i wont need to have it done!!

Good luck for this month! I am on my last cycle of Clomid (doc gave me 3 months) and have follow up on 3rd Feb so good to hear what your consultant suggested

Fingers crossed this is our month and no further "exploring" is required!

because we have been trying for 16 months now and clomid is working as i am ovulating so they need to investigate more to see why im not getting pregnant

Hi Hayley,

your situation seems very similar to mine. Had all tests done then clomid etc and then lap and dye, they found nothing so have refered me back for IUI next!

Hope thay get to the bottom of things for you!

How did u find the lap and dye? I am in the middle of ovulating now so i am trying my best so i wont need to have it done!!

Am similar to you. Just did the months of Clomid and it didn't work. I didn't ovulate on it, though, so I think they know what my problem is.

Have been told we can try three goes of IUI as well as IVF. Was told that IUI might not be the best option for me, though, because they use Clomid to stimulate ovulation and I did not respond to it whatsoever.

It all depends on the hospital, I think, what the next step is. I was moved straight onto IVF because the specialist questioned what use anything else would be to a person who cannot seem to ovulate on their own. I assume they will try IUI with you since you do.

Not sure if it helps Hayley but my BF had clomid for both her babies - second one she had a lap & dye done and fell pregnant 2 months after. She had PCOS and some Endo and was told the lap dye gave her a 5 month window of improved conception before she got 'clogged' back up again.
