Nickname

Hey all!

We haven’t decided fully on what our little boys name will be yet but we are liking Austin at the moment.

I like the nickname oz/ozzy and it SOUNDS right as a nickname for Austin with the similar sounding start to the name, but with the spelling being so different would it be odd?

Maybe just name him Ozzy? That’s a super cute name! But I think just using the O for the nickname instead of an A is really fine too. Usually when you’re signing up for preschool or school there will be a spot on the form for “preferred name” and you can just put it in there so teachers will know the spelling.

Not odd. You can also call him phonetically Ozzy but type it Aussie/Auzzy if if bothers you. I mean how do we get Bill from William or Dick from Richard? But Ozzy can be a name as well. I just don’t see an issue personally with Austin nicknamed Auzzy/Ozzy

Thanks guys! We are pretty set on Austin now and I am liking it more and more as it is. I do find myself sometimes saying Oz for short but I don’t think it’s an issue like you all said x

Also I did like just Ozzy on its own but my partner wouldn’t get on board so Austin was the closest I was gona get haha x
