I finally think I can up my 19 week old from slow to medium. His feed times are sometimes 40 minutes and he seems to give up early and gets disinterested. You can also hear him really suck.
I have been using medium flow the past few days. He does dribble a bit but he doesn't choke like he used to when I tried a month ago. Will he get used to the medium flow? I feel he is so used to sucking furiously on the slow nipple and that is why he is struggling a little bit with the medium flow. We went from 30 minute feeds to 10 and he usually drinks more than used to on the slow as well.
My main issue with the medium occurs with his night feeds. He doesn't go back to bed as easy as he did on the slow. I think he gets a bit of an upset tummy at night with the medium. Would it be confusing to use the slow nipples at night and medium through the day?
