It makes me really sad.
I used to love it. Going out or hosting parties etc. It was great.
Now, ....nothing. I've never been to anyone elses party, nor have I been invited to one.
Tonight we stayed home, without inviting anyone and while I should have been grateful of having my oh and DS with me, they both fell asleep before midnight.
I was on my own.
I hate that people tell me staying in is better and that a quiet one is good. I'm a social person, I love being social. So NYE makes me sad. It just reminds me that the festive period is over and it's miserable January and February again.

Awww I feel you today... we were supposed to have a house full of people today but sickness forced us to cancel

So now it’s going to be a long, lonely night. It’s so depressing.

Awww sevenofnine, sorry to hear that. What a rubbish start to the new year for you. 😔 Hope the sickness leaves your house soon X

We stayed in, I actually didn't even realize it was NYE until my husband mentioned it at 7:30 pm when he got home from work! I was asleep by 9pm. I don't really care, it's just another day, you can party and be social any day of the year, no point in getting upset over one day.

Good for you.

NYE can be quite depressing. I find the comedown and getting back to reality after all the excitement of Christmas really difficult :hugs::hugs:

NYE can be a low day ... sounds like more you would have liked the socialising part and it's ok to miss it.

Does your OH like socialising? Would it have been possible to go out NYE and him stay at home with LO? With my ex we have done that because we had nobody to look after the girls for us to go out together but not every year sometimes it was nice to stay in ... I wasn't always like that though (feeling old haha).

I do agree so much can be put on one day when you can go out any day. Maybe arrange a night out soon, little bit of you time <3
