Hey Maddie- I'm feeling alright, how are you feeling? I feel like I can't complain too much yet because its only going to get worse in the next few months!

My baby shower will be August 28th, so we haven't bought much yet. We want to wait until after the shower so we can see what we need. DHs family is getting us our baby furniture, so I think that is being ordered soon. Otherwise we are sticking to buying cute outfits here and there. I think September will be a big month for us to get everything together.

Welcome Maddieloves! I just had my first baby shower today in fact! I didn't think anyone would throw me one so decided after I got to half way that stuff it; I wanted one so I'd organise one! lol! I wanted an earlier one so we can get on with buying more things to fill in the gaps (we already have all the big stuff) so yup, had it today! Since organising this one though, I've got someone wanting to throw me one later on cos she wasn't able to get to this one, so that'll be in September and should finish off the stock of things nicely!

This was my stash of stuff from the baby shower:

mostly clothes (varying sizes; yay!) with a few throws/blankets, the bath, a few toys and creams and stuff too. It was fun to catch up with everyone too as a lot of them I hadn't seen in ages!

Congrats, we are having our 2nd and time is flying, we are so unprepared we really should start to think about organising ourselves.

I'm feeling really well in myself though, little Man is very lively. How is your pregnancy treating you?

This thread doesn't move along very fast..... Thats ok though because I can catch up with everyone easily. I don't know about ya'll but since its summer I just haven't really had the time to sit down and post. My next Dr appt is July 25th, looking forward to that because we had to cancel our last one. So far being in 3rd Tri doesn't feel any different. I don't really relate yet to most of the posts in 3rd Tri, maybe in a few more weeks. My pelvic bones have been getting very sore lately and it makes it hard to roll over in the middle of the night. I wish it wasn't SO hot so I could get outside more without getting sick......

My Dr. said third tri doesn't start until 28 weeks? Anyways, I can't believe how fast time is flying! We are getting stuff together slowly but surely, with the bulk of it coming from our baby shower next month. Besides feeling like a beached whale, I can't complain too much as I really haven't had many issues. Its about a million degrees out this week so I'm starting to get swelling in my feet. Anyone else swelling up? Its really hard to move around out there when its so hot.

I know some start 3rd tri on week 28, but if you make it mathematically technical (lol) 40/ 3= 13.33
13.33x 2= 26.66

Therefore 27.


& I agree w/ you ladies, it's soooo HOT!! It's bumming me out! The sun's shining but the heat index is in the 100 mark, so I'm stuck inside

Actually there's THREE ways to calculate the trimesters; by the baby's development; by the gestation divided by three; and by the conception date (divided by three again).

The baby's developement the third tri starts at 27 weeks, as it's considered properly viable by then and can breath air etc.

By gestation divided by three the third tri starts at 26w 6d.

By your conception (38 week gestation) the third tri starts at 27w 3d.


So basically a day or two either side of 27 weeks is considered the third tri! lol. 28 weeks is just another opinion about the development though I believe...?

It has been SO hot here. We have been in the upper 90s and the humidity has been insane. At one point yesterday it was up to 95%. I can barely walk outside without feeling sick. My feet have started swelling as well, not fun!

Acorn- i'm glad I'm not the only one whose feet have started swelling. It sucks!

I had no idea the swelling would start this early, but I am guessing the heat has a lot to do with it!

But now I'm getting so many more lovely symptoms...

I kept wiping around my eyes thinking 'why won't the mascara wash off??' It's dark circles!! lol
I found my 1st spider veins & got jaw pain the last few days...


I'm sure there's more fun stuff to come, too!

Im 30 weeks in 4days I cant beleive it, I remember being 10weeks and couldnt even imagine being 30 it was so far away.
