OH not happy we are having a girl :o(

My BIL was the same way. He wanted a boy and when my sister found out she was having a girl he seemed devastated for a good while. Turned out to be a boy anyhow. Funny how that worked out. Now they have two boys. Give him some time and he will come around. All of those feelings melt away in the delivery room and all that matters is that he is holding HIS child.

My husband is set on having a girl and he won't even consider any boy names. I am wondering how he will react if we are having a boy...

He will love her once he holds her. We found out were having a boy and he really wanted a girl, I can tell hes a little disappointed but Im hoping he warms up to the idea.

we are having a girl and told MIL this weekend and her response was "well yall are just going to have to try again" and admitted she was hoping for a boy.

I wouldn't worry too much !! Father and daughters have a special relationship and he probably doesn't realize that. He probably thought about the fun stuff he would do with a boy and might be a bit disappointed but she will soon become dady's little princess !

i always heard that women become moms at conception, whereas men become fathers at birth....maybe he just needs to meet his little princess to really fall in love? best wishes!

My OH wanted a boy second time round and he was very disappointed but when emily was born he just fell in love....Give him some time He will come around when she comes into the world

Should of kept gender a surprise! My hubby wanted a boy but when our daughter was born he loved her to bits an still does! He wants to find out the sex this time but might put my foot down again and refuse.

BIL reacted the same. He wanted a boy, assumed he would have all boys. Their first was a girl. He sulked for quite a while, even though everyone else was so excited (DH's family is full of boys). Anyway, his little princess is just that now, Daddys little princess. He is completely besotted with her and has been since the moment she was born.

When myself and my husband were told our second child was a girl we were really dissapionted, as stupidly we'd convinced ourselves we were having a boy. I came round to the news a lot quicker then DH. But then after a week or so my DH went pink bonkers so much so I suspect my youngest thought pink was the only colour there was until she was a year old.

We both love our daughter very much and wouldn't swap her for the world. Every so often we remind each other of that small moment in time we were upset Amy was an Amy and not a Jack and laugh about it.

This time we're both convinced we're having a girl. So who knows, we may just get a boy and go through it all over again.

I have no doubt when he holds his princess, he'll fall in love. I've known a few guys who were unhappy about having girls until they held them... and now, they're daddy's little princesses. Sorry he's been so off about it lately, though, and I do hope he comes around very soon!

Make sure he knows that the sex depends on which sperm fertilizes the egg. It's his fault. Just kidding, but I was very disappointed when I first found out my baby is male. I have gotten over it and am VERY excited for a son, but I do hope that I have a little girl someday. What helped me was my firm belief that kids shouldn't be treated differently based on which genitals they have. That's certainly not fair. He can still work on cars with his lil girl, teach her how to play sports, and make sure she's tough enough to kick some butt if she ever needs to. Good luck! I hope he turns around... actually, I know he will.

OMG this exactly was i was going to start a thread on Wednesday - was 100% boy but we having a gorgeous girl!

From the moment the women said we was having a girl he just stopped talking - a few of his mates have girls and they were in same position so i asked them to reasure him all will be ok - she will be daddys girl etc and yesterday he was back to strocking my tummy and being a darling.. hes not 100% there yet but hes getting there..

Everyone different hun, its gutting because its like you cant show how excited you are but just leave him with it and let him think about how she is going to always be asking for daddy..

I am worried about this! we will be finding out the sex in couple of weeks and my husband been wanting a boy ever since we found out i was pregnant. he keep saying and looking at boys clothes!

i dont think he minds really what we have but i know he will be so disappointed if its a girl! I dont care what we have as long as its healthy! but i am concerned about my OH if we having a girl!

but i am sure it will be fine he will love her when she comes to the world fathers always seems close to their daughters (i am very close to my dad and always have been, mum and i only gotten closer since I moved out) so dont worry he will be fine it possible just a shock as he wanted a boy!

Hahahaaaa Love it xx He started sorting out her nursery today, just a few little bits to prepare for decorating but its a start He says hes happy now but would still have liked a boy - I said "next time" He said "no way, im not ending up with 3 of you, 2s bad enough" lmao xx
