OMG!!!So angry!

So i went to the doc cause i was having some spotting and pelvic pain and swelling. Well i found out that i might have pelvic inflamatory disease. What the hell is that. im going crazy trying to figure out what is going on in my body. plus on top of that i have a glad blockage on my goodies. what else can be wrong with me seriously

I wanted to give you some info though, PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) is an infection of the uterus and fallopian tubes. Once again, im sorry you are going thru this, hunny

The doc told me that she does not know if i have it but she ran some tests just to make sure. She was nice and told me that she would run some other tests to see if she could help me get preggo. She told me not to worry cause it might just be ov pain and spotting. she also said my uteres looks good. so im just mad that i might have some issues down their

Don't worry hon, even if you have it it's very treatable - it only causes problems with fertility if it's left untreated for a LONG time.

A course of antibiotics is enough to clear it up if it's caught early.

I had PID after a MC 2 years ago, dont want to scare you but its what damaged my tube and I still get pain from it now.

I am having my 2nd lap operation to fix it in the next few months.

I was constantly spotting for like weeks on end, smelly discharge, swollen stomach, pain when dtd, pain when not dtd.

I was at the point where I couldnt have sex cause it hurt so much.

i only have some small pain when dtd. spotting that started last tue. no discharge that i can really see. i also have pain from my gland swellig.
well i just got my wet swab test and its all neg all im waiting for now is an std

Hi there

I recognise you from some other threads Guey so thought id post my thoughts.

I started getting bad pains from the day i ovulated this month, really bad in my lower abdomen and it was reall painful to unless in missionary, also it hurt when i sit down and when i went to the loo. I was just getting to the point when I was going to the doctor and it stopped hurting. It was 5 days in total and i wondered whether it was PID?

Im going to mention it to my FS when i see him next, as you may have read before if im not preggo this time round then im going for a laparoscopy to check for tube damage, endo etc.

I feel your pain, i have PCOS and long cycles and now this, I feel like its one thing after another .... what tests did they do chick??

They did a pregnancy test, testosterone, gonorrhea, clamydia, a wet swab that test for bacteria vaginitis, trichomoniasis, and yeast infection. my wet swab was negative so no infections. my pregnancy test was negative. So now i have to wait 2 std test and testoterone test. If they cant figure out whats wrong then i will get referred to an ob/gyn doc.
Oh yeah and the gland blockage was diagnosed by a pelvic test, their are no actual test for that.

Aw mate, thats a lot of tests! Hopefully something will give a clue as to what is wrong and at least they are doing something for you. I would ask to be referred to a specialist asap .... not sure about the US but here in the UK there is a waiting time for a first appointment ... once you are in you can get appts quicker though.

Your sig looks like you have been pregnant before so something must be working, take that as a good sign and fingers crossed something worked this time, the preg test they did wouldnt have come up with anything this early if you are only 3 dpo.

well they call me a couple of days after i am referred so its pretty quick. i was happy with the doc i got this time as she was so helpful and let me know what was going on

Aw thats good news, one of the most difficult things about finding there are possible complications is the time it takes to wait for appointments to get them sorted .... i waited 13 weeks for a FS appointment, now go to wait 6 weeks for a lap ... fingers crossed we wont have to worry!!

My consultant suspects I have PID also as I have some of the symptoms (two previous cases of PID in early twenties, yellowish green discharge although not smelly, pain during sex in pelvic area, occasional bleeding after sex, tenderness in pelvic area, pain in rectum – although there are so many other symptoms other than these).

The two times I had it before I was in agonising pain, it hurts just thinking about it. When I was toldtoday that I might have PID again I thought no way cos I’m not in pain, but then my friend told me when she had PID she didn’t have any major pain at all.

You said your next appointment is in a few weeks… I honestly don’t want to concern you unnecessarily, but time is a huge factor when you have PID, every day matters, so if I were you I would insist that you see your doc asap for the results.

I have a scan booked for Thursday and hopefully they will see if I have it, but she did say if nothing shows up in the scan (mild cases sometimes are difficult to detect by scan or swab) she wants to do a laparoscopy to check for inflamation… Really hope it doesn’t have to come to that…!
