I was ltttc with my first, and now here I am back with my second. I went to my doctor who told me my progesterone was low and told me to take it daily because my ultrasound showed it was too low on day 9. I went home and even on the bottle it said to take daily. I started taking it but was not ovulating and got suspicious so I called the doctors office and the nurse practitioner says my the instructions say take daily and to keep going. She knew we were TTC.

When I visited my doctor again very frustrated I didn't ovulate, she said we need to go straight to IUI. I asked her about taking the progesterone daily, when everyone I know only took it after ovulation and she responded, "Oh yeah, you only took it after ovulation right? You didn't?" I AM SO MAD.

Now I'm on day 40 of my next cycle (usually 30) and am not getting my period and have not had a temp shift. This has never happened to me before. I know it's because of the progesterone that acted like birth control last cycle.

For those that taken birth control, how long did it take to get your period back? Any advice? I'm desperate. Dh travels and I can't even time this right now, or get my period!

Yes, your are right the pregestrone was blocking your ovulation. I can't believe it someone told you to take it for your entire cycle.. so sorry to hear that because i know how frustrating it must be!!

I am so sorry!!! I can not believe they told you this.

I am even more sorry I have now real advice for you. I am at the end of my cycle with :bfn: and new I have to wait for AF to start so I can plan my cycle.

There are some herbal teas that help menstration, but really, the best thing is to wait for your body to do it naturally. It sucks. I understand.

Sending you good vibes and :dust:

Thank you so much for your support. I'm having a hard enough time getting pregnant without a doctor screwing it up even more! My dh will be home for two months and we have to make this happen! We also don't have the funds for anything more extensive at this point. Here's to hoping I get my period soon and baby dust to all!
