Our babies are all grown up - December 2009 and January 2010 toddlers

:( sorry to hear you have been poorly, I hope the antibiotics help madelyn get better soon :hugs: hopefully tomorrow goes better for her, I can imagine its hard enough leaving her in the first place :(

Daisy was sick last night, shes never been sick before and it really worried me, typical all 3 of us were sick at the same time, thankfully starting to feel a bit better now but really worried about Daisy now she's in bed :( I take my hat off to people who have severe morning sickness, I barely coped today and it was only a one off!! x

Sickness is awful isn't it. I lost a stone in a week through just being sick all the time and the whole time i was just so worried about passing it on to her. It was so hard leaving her at the nursery, she cried to much and wouldn't let go of me. When I left i cried in the car park for about 10mins. The nursery said that she was fine the rest of the day though so felt slightly better about it.

Hows Daisy getting on? How are you managing being pregnant with the LO at home?

Sorry to hear you've both been poorly Bluebaby. I hope Madi has a better day at nursery, bless her. When children start big school for the first time in my reception class quite often they cry but within 5 minutes of their parents going they are totally fine. I am sure that is the same for littlies too :hugs:. I think it is much harder on the parents than the kids.

Thanks girls :hugs:

I just wanted to ask you all. How well do your LO's eat? Madi eats well for breakfast and lunch but really isn't a fan of dinner. Also do your LO's drink cows milk? I can't get Madi to drink cows milk at all.

Daisy is a very good eater. I always give her a fairly small dinner though, usually sandwiches/ scrambled egg/ omlette/ cheese on toast/ low salt beans on toast, that sort of thing. She has her biggest meal at lunchtime. She has never turned down anything she's been given, apart from when she had flu. She has a BF morning and night and a bottle of cows milk during the day. She just drunk it the first time I offered it to her and has been fine with it.

Hayley - There are so many sickness bugs going round at the minute, Evie had it a couple of weeks back, it's not nice :(. Luckily Phil and I just had the feeling sick not actually being so we escaped!

BB - How did Madi get on today? Hope she wasn't too upset and hope the tablets kick in soon. If she's feeling a bit rubbish she might just be a little tempremental and be totally different when she feels 100% :hugs:

As for eating Evie has phases but is actually fussy at what she will eat. We've had a bit of a back step since she was poorly and she's only really been eating the stage 2 Ellas kitchen pouches, however today she had a bowl of cheerios for breakfast and some tuna pasta for lunch. She tends to eat jars of food better than 'real' food, but that might just be my attempts at cooking :haha:

Before she was poorly she as eating a bowl of porridge for breakfast and we moved on to the stage 3 jars, although she doesn't really bother with desserts. Her guilty pleasures are wotsits and garlic bread!

Evie refuses point blank to have any form of milk out of a cup or bottle, I even tried putting yoghurt in with the cows milk to sweeten it and she hated it, that's why I won't leave her for longer than a couple of hours! x

I really am rubbish with knowing what to try her with, to be honest I think she gets bored with chewing and just spits it out x

Do you ladies let your lo have chocolate? I let Evie have a nibble of mine but today I got her one of the little freddo bars as a treat (I don't really know why ) and she ate it all! I felt a bit guilty after for introducing her to chocolate in the first place.

Madi has a couple of white milky buttons once a week i would say. She has an addiction to quavers though  Such a bad mum

Abigail doesn't really have chocolate but she loves cake :dohh: I think I have taken her out for coffee too many times. I usually have a panetone and she always has a bit of it.

HI girls - I've just seen this thread and hope you don't mind me popping in. My DD Christina was born 7th Jan 2010 and is just now 14 months. She sleeps well now, but didn't sleep through regularly until she was 11-12 months as I began dropping BFs. When we dropped the overnight feeds, she must have thought it wasn't worth it to wake anymore. She still takes 2 naps in the day but they are getting shorter so I'm thinking she may be ready for just 1 soon.

I wanted to ask you all about a concern of mine since your LOs are all around the same age. Christina seems to be advanced developmentally in most areas - she's pretty smart, feeds herself pretty well even with utensils, etc., but she's not walking yet, and really seems she's not even close. :( She has been crawling well since before 9 months and is very efficient - she can climb stairs and gets into everything! In the past month or two she does pull up to stand on her feet very often and she cruises along the sofa a little bit. But she can't stand without holding on to anything, and when we try to walk her by holding on to her hands we are sort of dragging her - she'll do the stepping but she's not doing much of the weight support/balancing part herself. We have a couple of push toys we thought would help with her walking but she can't really even use those yet - she will stand still holding on to the handle, but once she pushes it a bit she just plops on her bottom. So I was wondering if you all thought this was concerning enough for me to ask the doc if she needs a therapist or something, or am I just being an over-concerned first-time mom and she'll get there in her own time? Do you have any tips for activities/exercises we could do to help her along? Thanks so much!

Daisy isn't walking yet either hun so don't worry yet, I think any doctors etc would just say to give it a few months x

Evie has only done a few steps but they are quite random and she prefers to crawl. I'd try not to worry, I think (don't quote me!) that it's around 18 months before docs will be getting concerned. Evie has no interest in feeding herself or really holding food (other than wotsits!!!) so I personally think they all do things at their own pace and will get there in their own time x

Thanks girls! I feel so pressured because everyone is always asking about her walking, and really she can't even stand on her own. I know in my head that's she's fine but I get so stressed out about it when other people keep asking. Plus I know she's developing beautifully in the other areas and I've heard that usually they will focus on one or two skills at a time and everything else gets pushed aside for a while. I appreciate your reassurance. Your LOs are gorgeous! :)

hey, i havent been on this thread for a while. with regards to walking ithink the average is actually between 13 and 15 months and not the 1 year that lots of people think.

my LO wasnt anywhere near walking and I could've written your post last week but all of a sudden, out of the blue has started standing unaided and trying to walk (just a couple of steps before she falls at the moment).

so i would say, you never know how close she really is to walking as it can happen quite suddenly

Abigail is 15 months next week and has been cruising round furniture for AGES but shows no signs of walking. She'll stand on her own for short periods now but the walking just isn't happening. All her friends have been walking for ages but I try not to worry about it as I'm sure she'll get there in her own time. She doesn;t really say any words yet either, which worries me more than the walking tbh, but she does communicate a lot through genstures, she babbles all the time and she points, waves etc and feeds herself so I guess she'll get there!

Same here - no walking! Has been showing more of an interest the last 2 weeks and will take 3 or 4 steps to me or Dave if he feels like it but he's so happy crawling. Don't worry!

Hi ladies, hope you've all had a good weekend, we've been to the farm today :)

I was just wondering how many any of you use a sleeping bag and who uses blankets? We used to use sleeping bags but I think Evie felt too restricted and got twisted in them as she tosses and turns so much but I am forever straightening and putting her covers on as she hates to be covered, I don't know what I'm going to do when she is in her own room and she's not right beside me to sort her blankets!

I was thinking of trying a sleeping bag again but I know she would get twisted up and would she not keep falling when she stands up/crawls

Daisy has a sleeping bag and she can stand up in it really well. It doesn't bother her at all. I also cover her over with a doubled over cellular blanket but she usually kicks that straight off her

We use a sleeping bag also. I think Christina's is 12-18 months size and it seems plenty big enough for now. She has no problems pulling herself up and scooting around the sides of her crib in it. Also, I'm not sure if these are available there in the UK, but over here they sell sleeping bags with little feet in them, so your LO can have their feet in or out, whichever they want. An example is seen here: https://www.amazon.com/Halo-Innovations-SleepSack-Wearable-Blanket/dp/B001PBNIZM

I bought Christina one of these in the 18-24 month size but we haven't tried it yet.

We use sleeping bags still, Abigal is now in the 18-36 month ones, they are pretty long but she still manages to stand up in the cot and move around pretty well. I think I will keep going with them until she grows out of them and then move onto a pillow and duvet.
