Our babies are all grown up - December 2009 and January 2010 toddlers

How cute is that pic of Daisy with the ginuea pig :cloud9: shes so grown up :D

I cant believe my baby is 1 now, where does the time go? She still only has 2 bottom teeth with 5 big bulges on her top gums, she keeps waking crying, think theyre really bothering her, wish they would just cut :( Daisy's 19lb 6oz :happydance: some how managed to gain 1lb 4oz in just 2 weeks so it works out she gained an average of 1lb a month in her first 12 months :cloud9: x

Yes, I hate leaving Daisy, even though she has a lovely time with her dad. Sometimes I secretly feel cross with my hubby that he gets to be the one to stay at home with her and work part time while I have to work full time just because I worked really hard to get a good career and he didn't! I feel mean saying that and I never would say it to him but I do sometimes feel a bit bitter! Like tonight when I was getting Daisy ready for bed and she kept saying 'dada dada' and I thought that she must want her dad as she's with him all day and only sees me for about 2 and a half hours a day :(. It is tough.

It is so tough :hugs: I feel like I'm not the one who knows her the best anymore iykwim. Madi refuses to come to me for about the first half hour after I get home from work and that really hurts, its like she punishes me for not being there. I suppose we should be grateful that our hubby's are getting some alone time with our girls, alot of men don't do their fair share at all. Its funny though cause my hubby will be in all day with Madi but doesn't have the time to do the housework and tries to make dinner and every cup, plate, bowl in the kitchen has been used (bless him :winkwink:) If he goes out he has openly said he can't get out the house before 3 in the afternoon. Man can't multi-task at all :haha:

Madi has just cut her 3rd tooth, for ages she has just had 2 bottom teeth. It is so hard to see them suffer, I have had to give Madi calpol every night for a while now to let her get a good sleep

Oh gosh bluebaby that sounds a bit like me!!! I'm off with Ethan Mon and Tues and everything else goes out of the window as it's my days with my baby for mommy time so the sink is often full of washing up and the housework and dinner gets done when it's done!!!!!!!!
Jc, Daisy says dada because it's the first thing that babies always say - I see Ethan much more than Dave and he says dada as soon as he sees him and hardly ever says mama so it's not personal!

We'd love to do another class but as we live in an okay/not brilliant area there is not much available - I guess not many ppl here can afford to pay for classes like that here so it's not worth their while putting them on. Hope Daisy loves it!

I'm like this also but don't tell the hubby, I just wizz round with the hover and do the dishes about half an hour before he gets in :haha:

I havent hoovered all week :shhh: hehe x

Glad I'm not the only one who isn't a 'natural' housewife! I'm all for equality anyway, if I did all the hoovering and dishes what would Dave do? ;)

Hi girls :). Did any of your LOs have the MMR at the same time as their 12 month booster and if not when will they have it? Daisy finally had her booster yesterday and they had three syringes prepared and I asked them what the third one was and they said it was the MMR so I said that I only wanted the 12 month boosters done and not the MMR at the same time. The nurses weren't happy about it. Its a bit cheeky really because the appointment letter never mentioned the MMR and they wouldn't have told me what it was if I hadn't asked.I had the MMR when I had mumps last year and it bloomin hurt so I didn't want Daisy to have a sore leg as well as two sore arms :(. She is sooo grumpy today. Did anyone else have any side effects after the boosters?

We too delayed the mmr, our nurse was fine with it and agreed it is more effective the longer you wait but said a few weeks prior measles was going round and she would have advised to have it done had we gone then. I think we're going to get it done in a couple of months time but I am already worrying that she might catch something before then!

Evie had her boosters in her thighs (one in each) and the mmr goes in her arm, wonder why they do it differently? Poor Daisy :hugs:, our nurse said they can be a bit off and feverish for a couple of days but Evie seemed fine, one of her legs had a little lump where she had the needle and was red around it (which is normal) and it seemed a bit achy the day she had it done (dragging a bit when crawling) but we just gave her some Calpol.

Daisy looks soo cute with the little guinea pigs, Evie hasn't mastered gentle yet!! x

Madi has her jabs next week - im dreading it. I have put her booster jabs off twice now due to sickness so this appointment card says she has to get her booster jabs and the mmr. I really don't know what to do.

Do I get them both so that she has all her jabs and pain at the one time and i don't need to take her back

or do i get them separate cause i don't want her to have the side effects of both the mmr and the booster jabs.

What should i do??

She goes to nursery in 2 weeks so do you think she should have all her jabs before she goes?

I would delay the MMR myself hun, as that is what I am doing, but as Madi is starting nursery then maybe it would be best to have them all done at once. It is a hard one :hugs:.

Daisy has been such a grump all day today. I had to give her calpol earlier as she had a bit of a temperature. I feel cruel as she's just recovered from flu and was 100% then gets taken for her jabs and feels rough again :(.

oh i forgot all about this thread :dohh:

i asked the DR about having the boosters seperately from the MMR and she went off, spoke to the nurse who said research showed that they work better all together....hmmmm

I really have never heard that before and had planned on waiting longer, but you know when a Dr is saying somethign to you and you think "oh well they do have a degree in medicine and i dont" kinda thing?

got the appointment through for this tuesday but have delayed it for a couple of weeks as LO has been off with hand foot and mouth. relieved really as i am dreading it.

have you ladies given calpol in advance/straight after or at all?

BB - May be give the nursery a ring and see if there have been any recent cases and then make your decision?

Fairy - They say not to give calpol in advance (I can't remember why now but I'm sure somebody will know). We always give Evie a dose immediately when we get home and then see how she is later, thankfully she's always seemed fine but if she was off I would give her another dose.

Daisy had a dose of calpol when she got home too and didn't need anymore on the day of the jabs but needed some the following day.

:( Daisy has her jabs tomorrow and we too are delaying the MMR. You 'shouldnt' give calpol before jabs cause it can mask symptoms.

Daisy is really getting clever with her words, I'm so proud. Yesterday Hubby said 'Daisy' and she replied 'what' shes so cheeky. She also says Mickey (mickey mouse fanatic), mum, dad, did it, finished. I cant believe how grown up theyre getting :cloud9: x

Aww clever Daisy. I hope she gets on okay with the jabs tomorrow :hugs:. My Daisy was grumpy yesterday after having them on Friday but seems fine again today.

I wish my Daisy would say words. She babbles away none stop but no real words yet!

Aw cheeky monkey Daisy :haha:. The actual jabs were not as bad as I thought (well not that I had them but you know what I mean!). She did cry but literally for seconds, hope Daisys ok x

JC - Evie babbles (a lot!) too, most of her words don't really have any meaning. She says ta, daddy, baby (but not at a baby), hiya, I think that's it actually but she understands when you ask her where her baby or her ball or daddy is, not mummy though :(

I took Madi to her settling in day at the nursery and she did so well. When we got there I put her down and she just walked away and started playing with the toys. She wasn't too keen on playing with the other babies quite yet though but think that will come. They were going to have snack so the woman said to madelyn to come and have snacks at the table and away she went and sat at the table with 3 other babies and had snacks. I didn't realise she could be so grown up  I've to take her back on Tuesday and leave her for an hour, really nervous but so glad she likes it.

Great news that she had a good time. She'll settle in just fine :) :hugs:.
