I only have one good tube (right tube is blocked). Today I had an U/S done and found that I have a 4cm ovarian cyst on my left ovary  I started crying cause I feel so helpless. I am prone to cysts, but this one came back within 10 months now and already its 4cm. I am waiting for a call from the nurse; they are probably going to put me on BC next month to see if it dissolves it. I am worried that it won't; I have already had 2 surgeries in the past for cyst removals.

Has anyone else went through this; what worked, what didn't work?

I had a 3.5cm cyst and it went by the time I had my next af fx'd for you x

I am so sorry. I have my first trip to see a specialist Oct 4th for this same thing. I wish you well. I know how upsetting this can be.

I have a horrible history with cyst.. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask!:hugs:

My most recent one (if I don't have one rite now) was last month.. I took clomid the month before and it gave me a 6cm cyst that could of turned and caused damage to my ovary:( was a very scary situation and I was also told to start BCP. I refused though, and 1 1/2 weeks later had another ultrasounds and it had shrunk to 2 cm:) And I did end up ovulating that cycle all on my own:) Don't give up hope! :hugs:

Oh, I'm so sorry. I don't know anything about cysts but it sounds like I lot of ladies on here do - so I hope that you can find comfort and peace in their stories of success!!!

PrettynPink - Thanks; I want to refuse the BCP too, but it will further delay me doing IVF. I went in today to get my pre-blood work and U/S, and didn't expect this cyst whatsoever. I was in complete shock and the girl who did the U/S was in shock that it was so large too. I have had fibriods in the past; nothing got rid of them except surgery. And last October, same thing, cysts and polyps again, had to be surgically removed.

I am so confused, I have no idea what to do at this point. I feel like throwing my hands up and saying, just be happy with my 2 year old boy and end my journey of TTC. I know I am being irrational and emotional, but it is so frustrating.

I had a 5cm cyst on my ovary. Long story short it was discovered in June and I've had a couple of scans since and it has been significantly smaller each time and this month I'm pretty sure I ov'd from the ovary with a cyst on:happydance:

I've had no treatment apart from acupuncture. I don't know if that's made a difference or not but it certainly didn't do any harm

good luck!

I know it sucks you do have your son...hold him whenever you feel upset. So sorry *virtual hug*

If your going to do IVF then I am not sure about taking it or not.. I understand your frustration though.. When you are TTC, last thing you want to do it go on BCP, that should be a no brainier for the doctors:dohh:

The similar thing happened to me. Went to see FS on cd3 to have an ultrasound and move forward with my second round of clomid. And there it was, a 6cm cyst.. They were shocked that I was not in pain or tender.. But I have had several ultrasounds, and 50 percent of the time I will have a cyst (never that big) but still. It was very discouraging and frusrtating. FS wanted me to take BCP for 1 month but I refused. Thank goodness my OB agreed that I shouldn't take it (he knows my body pretty well after 7 years :haha: )

I have had 3 surgeries.
1st- to remove dangling cyst and found out I had stage 2 endo
2nd- for endo stage 4 now
3rd- HSC to stop bleeding (had been for 4 months) and had a polyp removed and HSG

aww, don't give up! :hugs:

Did you have trouble conceiving your first?

I am still waiting for the nurse to call, so I guess if they want me to start the pill, I will. I am having discomfort from the cyst, just never knew it wast that causing the pain I was having until today.

I did not have any trouble conceiving my son; I was never trying to get pregnant...and I did! And I stupidly, yes I was VERY stupid :dohh: had my tubes tied after having him cause I had a horrible pregnancy. They found I had cysts when I had him too and left them there...UGH. So I have so far had surgery for fibroid removal in 2005, then my tubes tied in 2009, then my tubes reversed along with cyst and polyp removed in October 2010, now my right tube is blocked (confirmed by HSG test last month), so we decided to move to IVF. I guess I never expected to have yet ANOTHER cyst this quickly!

I know whatever is meant to happen, will. Thank you everyone for all your kind words and support :hugs:

The nurse called last night; they want me to wait until my next cycle and have it checked again. They are hoping it will shrink on its own. I have waited this long; what's another month! I just pray that it does shrink!!!

that's what they did with me and it had shrunk enough for them to hold off surgery until the next scan. Apparently it's very common for them to disapear on thier own so there is every chance for you.

good luck! xx

I have had one cyst that I know of. I never knew i had it either, i had experienced pain for ages but thought it was period pain.

I then in the early hours of one morning had so much pain I was admitted to hospital the next day, I had appendicitis and during a routine ultrasound found a 3.5 cm cyst on my right ovary.
I was in hospital for 9 days in total. On day 7 they finally operated (bloods didnt show appendicitis so they didnt think that was the problem) and removed the cyst at same time.
It was blood filled which was fine but they couldnt stop the bleeding and my laparoscopy operation last three times as long as what it should do and I have no recollection of the following 24 hours. I was allowed home on day 9 and returned to work 5 weeks later.

I have never felt so ill in my life, I have had 3 ultrasounds since and no cysts.

I am now having lots of pain again, no AF for 16 weeks after taking Provera and now Clomid, so who knows whats happening.

I have every sympathy for anyone with cysts.

Oh wow savannah; that is a scary experience! I am holding off till next cycle to see if it shrinks. Hoping it does, otherwise he will try to aspirate it. So now its just a matter of waiting another 4 weeks.
