over 35 TTC #1. anyone? beuller?

Libby I'm so happy that things r moving forward! That's so exciting! It will be so awesome when u get ur BFP! :)

Annie I hope that ur little girl behaves and stays in there as long as possible! Im so sorry about ur mom and family, that's really aweful. It really sucks not to have their support.

My gender scan is Friday afternoon hopefully it cooperates :) I'll let u guys know! I can't wait to find out what kicking me in there!

I can't wait to hear! I told DH "Corn gets to find out if she's having a boy or girl tomorrow!!!" And he said "idk if its a boy or girl but I bet it's got big ears!" He thinks he's so funny. I call you Corn so he's always got an ear joke ready. What a goober.
I'm excited things are moving forward. We are making progress all the way around. I'm hoping I drop a few eggs and get two or three babies! Wouldn't that be so cool!? Seriously though, one would be super awesome, too!

Libby ur husband sounds like mine, corny ;) he always has those kind of jokes and he laughs the hardest about it as I roll my eyes. Yes, this scan is exciting, and nerve racking. It's brought up a lot of emotions, because last time I had a gender scan at the same place booked and had to cancel after I lost the baby. So, just thinking about it makes me emotional, but I'm hoping this is our happy ending.

Libby I'm happy u love the prospect of multiples :) I hope u get it! I personally love the idea of one at a time but that's me ;) I hope u get it soon! Next year will be a new experience for us all!

It's a boy! They said he looks perfect so we couldn't be happier! My youngest says to my tummy, you better like video games and pizza :p what boy doesn't!? It's 3 boys for me :o Both of my kids (16,12yrs) were cuddling on my lap last night, so I have a feeling they may be a bit jealous or worried about a new stepbrother, but they will always be my babies too.
But anyways, it will be my husbands and I only child together ;) we r happy things look good so far!

Hope u guys have a great weekend!

Yay!! It's so exciting!!! I bet your boys will love their tiny little brother!! They can teach him all sorts of mischief!
With all those boys to do work, you guys need to live on a farm!!

I'm so happy for you, Corn! And I love that you had teens cuddling with you...that's adorable. What a sweet bunch of boys you'll have. Honestly, I was just shopping and you're not missing out that much on the girls stuff...I'm sick of the pale pink everything with princess crowns and cupcakes. Meanwhile, the boys have every other color of the rainbow.

I love that your husbands are corny. Mine is too sometimes. Mine's a movie-laugher. Like way too loud and the only one. I shrink down in my seat and hide.

So what cd are you, Libby? Does the treatment kick in on time for this cycle? Yeee! I'm so excited! xoxoxoxoxo

I'm on CD14 now. I go for blood work on the 1st and see the specialist again on the 9th. So I think my treatments will begin in time for next cycle! I'm excited!
Also, we got the condo listed! The realtor thinks we may end up in a multiple offer situation and have the sale price go up. That would be fantastic, of course, but I'm just glad to get rid of it at all! Now that we are done working on getting the condo ready, we are starting work on the house today! I have gotten a little cold or nasal irritation from all the dust in the condo. That is the only thing I have to complain about right now! I'm feeling great and I'm super excited for you guys and your little monkeys!!

Yay!! I feel like you're getting a completely new start, Libby! And so soon, too! It is fantastic that it's moving along already for this coming cycle!! What work are you doing to your house? It better go with a purple velvet sofa :) I'm still working on getting mine. Our renovation is inching along, but I think we'll be able to move to the second floor and hopefully get all the plaster dust vacuumed out before Rosie shows up. Now I'm just shooting for basically safe and sanitary conditions ;)

How was everyone's holiday? xo

We live in a little squat farm house (not a pretty, two story with porches) that the previous family's patriarch built himself from the wood of their previous house. He built this house in the 40's. Then in the 60s they poured a slab right next to it and added on a garage, half bath, and a bedroom. Our first task we did almost a year ago was removing the garage door and enclosing the garage fully. Then we stopped. No money to finish. NOW we are taking the whole slab section of the house and creating two bedrooms and a whole bathroom. It is in rough shape. Plumbing was poorly done, and in that bedroom, there was no insulation of any kind put in between the outside siding and the inside cheap, thin paneling. Imagine our light bills! So, DH is ripping EVERYTHING out, down to studs, and we are putting back two bedrooms and a bathroom in between. Luckily he can actually do all of this himself. We will move into one of these rooms, and then remodel (floors, walls, ceilings windows) of our current room and put the boys in there. After that, we will redo the kids current room and violet will FINALLY have the privacy every girl needs! I can't wait!

I bet Violet is going to be so excited! How old is she again, 7ish? That is going to be so fun for her and you to decorate her room. So you guys are really starting from scratch, but we're not far behind you. This place was trashed from previous tenants and owners, and the layout is bizarre from being chopped up into apartments. We had to put a kitchen on a floor where there wasn't even one before and run all those lines and it's still a bizarre layout because we want to keep the 2nd floor has a 3-bedroom apartment to rent when we move in a few years. So we didn't knock down any walls and left it a rabbit warren. But, the kitchen was just finished and I'm happily surprised with how it turned out. Our hands were tied with really doing much, but the light grey cupboards and brass pulls and dark wood floors all ended up looking nice together.

What's the time frame for your renovations? Is dh doing all of the work himself? Have his hours calmed down at work? I want to see before and afters! xo

Oh my goodness, before pictures might scare you to death! Lol. DH will be doing most of it himself. He can do pretty much anything. He's really pretty impressive. He's getting a drill press and a plasma welder for Christmas. He's so excited he can't stand it. I don't understand it. I'm not sure I actually know what those are. Lol. Violet is already excited. I so wish her room didn't have to be last. But she said at her mommy's house she has a pink room and so she wants to have a purple room at our house. I am totally NOT painting a room in my house purple, but I think we can still make it very purple with fabrics and such. Thats if she doesn't change her mind by then, of course. The boys mention random stuff they wish they had in their room. A basketball hoop laundry basket is mentioned quite frequently. So they may end up with a sporty type room. Their room at their mothers house is camp themed so its all wood and outdoorsy looking. We went Friday to a neuropsychologist for violet. She goes in for testing in a couple of weeks to see if she might be on the autism spectrum. It could explain some of the things that bother her so badly, (noise, lights, not knowing every little thing that's going to happen, etc). I don't know what to hope from this. On one hand, something like this could provide an explanation, and by extension, solutions to cope. On the other hand, I don't want her to have any extra challenges. Growing up is hard enough. She just has such anxiety almost all the time. She's constantly in some kind of distress or other. She didn't want to go back to her mother's after this past weekend. She said she wanted to stay home with me while Daddy goes to work. And she said her brothers could go back to their mothers house. Lol. She's a funny one. It's laid back here. I think that's what she likes. I worry about her constantly. My poor sweet girl.
But I'm excited about fixing up the house. We will probably be working on it this weekend! Can't wait to have a new bedroom! Oh, the condo is under contract for above asking price!! So excited! Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong!

Had my follow up with fertility specialist. Starting Clomid TONIGHT!!!! I'm so nervous and excited!!!

OMG Libby! I'm super excited you u! I hope that's the magic ticket :)

Me too!! I can't deal! I'm so excited I'm practically vibrating! Lol. The doctor said it will give me hot flashes and bad cramps and make me feel like I'm high. And I'm all "don't care! Gimme!" Lol

Here's my ultrasound picture if my sweet crazy little boy! He had hiccups, couldn't sit still and had one hand in the crotch! All boy!

Let's see if this works!

How beautiful!! Look at his little round head!! So wonderful to see! Thank you for posting for us to see!

Beautiful boy :) And yay Libby!! I've been thinking about you and didn't mean to be away so long. We are mid-move this week and it's been a joke - like nothing working out at all. Down to not having electricity for a whole day, and then another contractor bailing the day before, and having a moving company only move half our stuff because nothing fits through the hall post-renovation. And we somehow lost our router and modem stuff until 10 min ago. And I was in the hospital because my bp went from 106/64 to 140/85 and I was dizzy and sick. And then the baby's heart beat dropped in half twice. I was telling the l&d nurses, "Noooo! She can't come yet! We are living in filth!" But things are settling down and I'm laying in bed with no sheets in a room coated in construction dust and just accepting it for another few days. haha. Dh said go ahead and pick out a velvet love seat though! It won't be as cool as the purple one you want, Libby...probably will end up with something more neutral, but we'll see.

Corn, how are you feeling?

Libby - are you having those side effects yet? What cd are you? I'm glad Violet saw a neuro. I totally hear you on not knowing what to hope. It's stressful to hear that diagnosis, but also you'll have something to work with and can therefore get an effective strategy in place for her. I've worked with a bunch of kids with autism and that's what I was specializing in when I was in grad school and it's a tough one, but you should see how the kids really thrive in the right environment with the right supports. You guys are taking good care of her :) How did the house work go this weekend? And any offers on the condo? xoxoxo

We got multiple offers on the condo and ended up with a bidding war! Closing in January ABOVE asking price! I can't believe it!
We got alot done on the house but have stopped work for the holidays. The kids are here and DHs parents bought an RV and showed up and set up camp in the next little town. Oh boy! Lol
I have been nauseous the last three nights at 3 in the morning. Wakes me up, lasts two hours and disappears. Idk if its anything. My tummy has been feeling strange. Idk if ovulating is just weird to my body now or what. Lol. But I should have ovulated in the last several days. I'm on CD17 so I could we could have conceived by now and just not implanted yet. Fingers crossed! I go back to the fertility specialist Wednesday so he can check and see if he think the Clomid did anything. He said he will not be able to tell if I'm pregnant yet by then.
We don't get the results for violets testing for another couple of weeks. I will be glad when that happens because I'm just anxious to death about it right now.
So if your BP went up and your munchkins heartbeat went down, is everything OK? Was it just a momentary issue or something? That's a little scary. Tell her to hang in there!!
