overweight and ttc

Being veggy is no concern I am a strict veggy and my oh eats veggy food a lot

That's reassuring :) I think it's just some random thing he's read. He's pretty healthy - very rarely drinks (a couple of pints a year!) and doesn't smoke - so hopefully he's fine. In that sense I'm very good too lol ;)

Hello ladies. So af arrived properly today after teasing for 2days. Naughty witch.
So this month we aren't. Going to anything but Dtd whenever we want to. 7months of opks and check cm and cp and temping last month too. It's just too much it's such a roller coaster. So next month we are GOING TO RELAX haha easy said than done but that's the idea xxxx

Eegee: oo big shopping trip! I love that especially when it's somewhere new. Plus all the Christmas stuff will be out now, yay!

I have heard of the soy aspect of being a veggie can affect fertility but that is only if eaten everyday for years and loads of it! The media always exaggerates anything bad for the health but never explains how little it really is.

Me and my dh never drink or smoke or drink tea or coffee so I'm hoping that when he has his analysis it comes back all good!

Keds: sorry af arrived!
I have enjoyed having a break from all of that as well, even though it's a pain having a long cycle. There is a lot of stories on here saying how people have taken a month out to relax and enjoy themselves and gotten pregnant. So good luck!

Hi all!

I'm really hoping to give/get great support in this thread.

DH and I just got married last month. We knew we wanted to start right away so wedding night it was! I was always on the normal side of weight, but a little curvy until early 20s. I went on antidepressants at age 21 and for the last 5 years have gone from 135 lbs to 245 lbs, where I am at today. Trying to lose weight before the wedding was too stressful but now that we are settling back into normal life I really want to feel healthier. We decided not to wait until I lose weight to try bc we just want to try ASAP. Family members say we should wait until I lose weight but I am not taking that advice. I plan to get more active and eat well and whenever a BFP happens it happens. I will just keep on with my healthy lifestyle. And I plan to look at pregnancy and trying as my catalyst for a healthy lifestyle.

I have regular periods, 27-29 day cycles. This was my first month with OPK's and I got a positive LH surge on cd16. Hoping I actually ended up ovulating!

Thanks for listening. I've enjoyed seeing the positive energy in this thread!

Hi mrspat! Congratulations on your wedding and what a nice way to start trying!
I too was on antidepressants and gained alot of weight. I guess they affect people in many different ways than what is just on the label.
Alot of us on this thread decided to try and lose weight at the same time, so we are all in the same boat. It is stressful but when is life not? Haha.
Has af arrived yet or are you waiting?
Any who, I think I talk too much on this thread... you guys might start thinking I don't have a life... :/ :L

I think I finally feel ready to actually try and lose some of the weight. Before my mental health couldn't handle any more (wedding planning, big move and then starting new job). But now I feel in a good place to really out the effort in. Any any effort is better than what I've been doing! :)
Progress not perfection!

I am 1dpo. AF is expected on 11/14 so I'm in my TWW. I'll try and pass the time by meal planning and cooking healthily. Hope that works :)

Thanks for saying hi!

Good luck with your 2ww :D

Don't take the advice of family members who tell you wait because of your weight, that decision is down to you and your hubby :hugs:

Sat here scoffing a bag of frozen grapes (absolutely love them at the moment, they're so good for a sweet craving). I am soooo determined to get out of the 360s weight wise (that's my goal at the moment, then I'll set another one when that's done), keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow morning when I do weigh in :D

Pregnacare Conception :D

I've been reading about the "symptoms" I've been having and discovered it could be a cyst... nervous to go get checked out though as I don't think the doctor will take me seriously. Think I might swap to a different GP first!

Hope everyone is okay :) The thread has gone a bit quiet lol :p

I'd definitely say try a different dr, with things like this you need someone you can trust to take you seriously :hugs:

All good here, dreading this weekend as I've got 3 nights at the in law's house without my hubby as I've made plans on friday night with my cousin and her mate is going to cut my hair for me (Hubby is coming across on sunday night on the train). Think I might do a healthy shop on friday night after having my hair cut for stuff to last me the weekend, rather than picking at any rubbish they might have in the house.

Oh and we've just paid off the villa for our honeymoon in June :happydance: I'd seriously love to have had a :bfp: before we go :cloud9:

Hello, well i take lots of stuff which helps all different things mainly to do with pcos. so here we go;
maca - both me and husband (there are alot of studies to show it helps improve sperm)
insitol- insulin resistance in pcos
magnesium
vitamin d
omega supplements
dong qui - helps blood circulation around reproductive system to improve eggs, uterus and ovaries
folic acid
evening primrose before ovulation only
spearmint tea- insulin resisitance pcos
cinnamon - blood sugar control pcos
vitamin e
vitamin c with zinc- husband again for sperm
iron - only because i suffer badly with anemia
i also do castor oil packs on my tummy which promotes blood circulation.

eegee - i have very large cysts so can understand your worry. what symptoms do you have and how long have you had them? cysts can come up and then go just as quickly and are usually nothing to worry about. After my internal scan, the specialist did not even advise anything and told me not to worry because 9/10 they are absorbed back into the body. :)

emmyreece: oh wow, where are you going?

as for me: nothing really to update you on. still waiting for af, not heard anything back from my doctors. my birthday soon and our anniversary so lots to look forward to and keep me distracted.

happy fireworks night too all in the uk! x

Sorry af hasn't arrived yet comet, really hope it hurries up for you :hugs:

Sounds like you've got a busy time coming up, have you made any plans yet?

We're actually going to Dalyan in turkey. We went there last year and loved the place, so much so that we had to go back for our honeymoon :happydance:

Thank you!

I think hubby is cooking for us this weekend (our anniversary)... here's to hoping the kitchen doesn't set alight! ha ha! He is actually really good at cooking, so i'm looking forward to it.
As for my birthday, were heading out to a cute Indian with a few friends, not too sure what i will be able to eat that's actually low cal!
This might sound horrible, but my friends all have children and i'm hoping they leave them at home :/. I just want an evening where i don't have to think about ttc?

Just had a sneeky look at Dalyan on google as i have never been to Turkey. It looks amazing, no wonder you are going back. Did you go to the beach with the endangered turtles? I would love to see all of that.

x

It doesn't sound horrible in the slightest. I totally get where you're coming from.

Yeah we went there on a day trip last year. Next year we're actually renting a private boat for a noon to moon tour (lunchtime until midnight) and we're hoping we can explore the other end of turtle beach this time :D

Surely an unhealthy curry on your birthday is allowed? ;)

Dalyan looks really interesting! I bet you can't wait to go back :D

My "symptoms" - well, it's happened before where I've wondered if I could be pregnant, and then weeks later AF has arrived. My boyfriend laughs at me whenever I buy an HPT because he's convinced it'll not happen any time soon, and it really annoys me - he's very inappropriate and means no harm, but it's still infuriating! So, the other day I bought some cheap tests and did them early evening (because like I said before, I messed the first two up) and it was BFN - I figured it was accurate because I don't drink enough at the best of times, and I think watered down urine is why they recommend early morning? Since about two weeks ago now, I'd had several things that made me wonder (and in the first few weeks after AF we had BDd every few days, which is considerably more often than most of the time, so I thought there might be a small chance!):

- shooting pains in right BB, aching in the left one day, and then several days, on and off, of them feeling slightly achy and uncomfortable (mostly around the top and sides, but not in the nipple area).
- couldn't sleep one night as my legs felt so weird (random!) - I rarely have a problem sleeping!
- really vivid dreams almost every night for a fortnight.
- uncomfortable feeling in lower abdomen, occasional twinges at both sides, aches if I cough!
- random bruised feeling for a while yesterday at front of pubic bone (not sure if relevant!).
- occasional sicky feeling.

I asked my old GP a few years ago about PCOS and was told that I "didn't look like someone who has PCOS"... I think that was a fairly odd remark. AF is irregular, I have excessive hair around my tummy and upper thighs and I have "sideburns" (always have, though), so I would rather know whether I do or not based on actual tests, not just guesses... new GP seemed slightly more interested, but not much!

I know that cysts don't always mean PCOS, but I've read that the "symptoms" I mentioned above can be a sign of a cyst - and can sometimes even cause positive HPTs! So I'd just rather know what was going on if possible! :p

Hi girls...

Hope you don't mind if I join in too? I am a U.s. size 22...

I am ttc my 1st...I just got married in May...it was my 1st marriage and DH' s 2nd...he had a vasectomy in his first marriage...we had it reversed in February...we were NTNP up until this last month...I consider this last month as our first real month of ttc...soooo now I am in the TWW....UUUUUUGH...

I have him taking maca and fertilaide...and I am taking maca...I have heard a lot of good things about maca so I am going to see how it goes for now...

I was feeling so positive this month and last night I felt like he just knocked me on my butt...I just feel like I am alone in this ttc journey...he talks all positive and then he will throw out the fact that we never seem to have enough money and that he doesn't think we will ever get pregnant and I get my hope up too high and I put too much pressure on him...blah blah blah...he knows how important it is to me why can't he just be supportive?

Ok sorry about the rant...hope everyone is doing great!

Wow that sounds amazing, what a honeymoon!

Eegee: that's what I thought, but the wagon is already unstable ;) haha.
The symptoms do sound like what I have/had, but could just be a cyst and not the syndrome. However, the symptoms could also be down to pregnancy. Wishing the latter. Glad you got a better doctor! She should be able to get you on the right track :)

Alex: hello! Wishing you good luck for the tww! Sorry to hear your husband is doubtful occasionally, but aren't we all sometimes. It's good that he is expressing he feeling to you even if they aren't what you want to hear. He wouldn't of gone through the pain of reversing the vasectomy if he didn't want to have a beautiful little family with you :) . Keep positive! It's a hard journey for both of you.
