overweight and ttc

Hello ladies
I'm totally new to this. Never been in a forum before. My husband and I have finally decided to TTC. (I'm still learning all these abbreviations!) I'm 32 my husband is 33. And I'm obese trying to lose weight too. For some reason I feel so panicked and stressed about the whole process. I just feel like I am running out of time! Everyone is like just 4get ur tryin and just enjoy. Easier said than done seriously. Been reading up on all this timing and ovulation.....sometimes I think it would have been better not to plan it!
Had a blood test last week to check my hormones. ..so waiting for those results. Everything else was normal thank god. The good thing is the doc didn't even say to me anything about my weight which makes think it shouldn't really matter....but I guess there's only 1 way to find out....let's hope for the best!

Hope2bamum: hello and welcome! It's great that the doctor did not say anything about weight, it's usually one of the first things they pick up on when trying to conceive, he obviously isn't concerned by it then :). I never realized how stressful ttc is and I too wish I just did every couple of days and hoped for the best.

Hope your journey is short x

welcome :D

we are all good thanks, we are back home now

i hope everyones xmas was good

maternity onsie :haha: and a cookie monster one :D
the best has to be the joint soda stream we got off mil ^__^

what did you get?

Ahh I love my onesie... nothing more comfortable!
Soda streams are awesome, haven't used one since I was 7!

I got alot of clothes, home accessories etc. I got alot of next vouchers as hubby told everyone I was obsessed with it. Now I don't know what to spend it all on, haha I only like their home section.

Hubby is on call New years eve so it's a quite one in, what is everyone else doing?

Xx

yeah matt starts work again next week! he only gets new years day off which is a bank holiday i think.

same here :haha: i could live in my onesie :haha:

we bought some baby clothes in the sale to (asda disney) :D

we need to find somewere to put baby stuff now though! when we move house (so we have a 2nd bedroom) in feb we will buy a chest of drawers for ellas clothes so we have somewere to put them.

so far they will have to be put in sports bags :haha:

Thanks! :winkwink:
Yeah I was surprised he didn't say anything. I mean I was so paranoid to be told I would need to lose weight before trying. Mind you I do want to lose weight anyways to make sure pregnancy will be a bit easier ( I can't imagine putting on more weight!) And we all know how hard it is to lose weight.:nope:
I'm an over thinker...lol
I know I am over thinking things a lot. ...like what if it takes forever...what if I don't ovulate.....I drive myself mental I tell ya!
Lol
I have only just started so I guess I need to work on my patience...lol how long have you all be trying?

Ps: can someone please teach me the abbreviations..lol

^ the abbreviations :D

i am a stone overweight, which because of my height makes me close to obese :dohh:

it took us 5 months off ttc/ntnp to conceive our little miracle :)

Thanks Magic! :winkwink:
And congratulations! :happydance:
How exciting for you!

When are you due?

Oh comet...I'm sorry about your doc not making the appt. Is there another doc you can go too that might refer you?

Magic...sounds like you are getting lots of great stuff for Ella! That must be exciting...

Welcome hope! I totally understand about your feelings on running out of time and people saying just don't think about it...I'm 35 and I was so sad this year when I hit 35 bc of ttc...and everyone and their mother had to tell me their stories about how they fell pregnant when they stopped thinking about it... it just made me more worried lol hubby got a vasectomy reversal in Feb. And we were NTNP for a while...we have only been ttc for going on 3 months I think

I have to go back to work tomorrow and I don't want to:dohh: lol I have been off since last Tuesday....hubby and I both have to work New year's eve but we are off the next day....but no big plans:hugs:

Thanks Alex :winkwink:

Oh we have only started trying this month....lol
And I'm already stressing...oh I knowwww everyone tells you just relax and have fun...even the doc told us that....I just can't help but stress......I mean at the end of the day you are TTC. ..how can you not think or stress about it!

Hope2bamum: I'm an over thinker too. I stress about it everyday :(. We have been trying since April - 2 cycles ntnp then full on ttc.

Magic: ah seems like we are all having quite new years. Will be lovely to have more space! Asda has great baby clothes at amazing prices too.

Alex: I could either wait till the 8th for my appointment and hope she does refer me then. Or switch doctors now and hope it doesn't set me back further. It's hard either way. Hope work is easy for you!!

Xx

Comet: it's hard not to over think hun....esp when you are actively trying. How old are you? I mean the do say 12 months is normal to conceive. Have you had all your check ups?

Hope2bamum: I have pcos so it may take longer, I'm waiting on a referral to a specialist. I'm 21 :) people will say oh but I'm young I have ages but like anyone ttc if you want a child now...you want it now. Not 5 years down the line because I'm 'young' . Xx

i hope your doc refers you soon

i know it is hard but try not to stress about it. it takes a couple of months to get into the swing of things ttc :dohh:

oh and i am due may 14th my mum was 2 weeks overdue with all of us so i am expecting it to be the same for me :haha:

Comet: Oh :( I don't know too much about it but is that when the eggs don't release? My friend had that - her periods were irregular too - she said they tried for about 2 years before they had a check up to see what the problem was. Then she went to a fertility clinic. Did a fertility treatment where the inject you with hormones to release the eggs. 6 months later she was pregnant! :)
Now has a healthy 1 month old.
I know what you mean about when you want the baby u want it now! You are still young which is good. I hope you get your doc referral. It may take a little time but when it happens it will be the best thing ever. My friend was telling me that. She said 2 years ago they thought they were ready but actually after everything they went thru they were more ready when it happen. :)

Magic: Yeah I know it's still early days for me. I think I'm due for my period today and have I feeling I am getting them. I guess have to get ready to TTC next month.

Awww that's not long...how exciting for you :)
2014 will be a big year. How is ur pregnancy going?

Awww...Magic...you have a cute family!

Comet...that is a sticky situation...I feel so frustrated for you! Can you get copies of the tests your doc has done so that if you do have to transfer doctors then you can have them ready to go?

Hope...are you using opks or charting temps to figure out when you ovulate?
