We own around 90% of ours atm. Royal bank of Scotland own a little bit but thankfully will have that remaining part of the mortgage paid off within the next 3 years

Own. We have a 90% mortgage and have paid off somewhere between a quarter and a fifth of what we owe.

Much as I liked renting (our only experience of it in the UK was very positive), I couldn't go back to it now. It astonishes me what people have to pay in rent, then utilities and council tax etc on top of that!

Private rent a two bedroom house.

Wish we could afford to own our own home (well... have a mortgage) but we're living on less than 15K a year, and some of that is Tax Credits :/ xx

Rent and living in the SE with OH on NMW and Childminders fees we may never own! Not the end of the world though, we have a roof over our head and no worry over things breaking. My only complaint is with renting in general, esp via agents, Fees are f-ing daylight robbery, you can be kicked out after 6 months and letting agents have no real idea of the law and no one enforces them. The whole system needs looking at a over hauling. In Europe it's more common to rent than own and 5-6 yr tenencys are common place.

We rent a 3 bedroom flat. heating and water is included. council tax don't exist here. we get a lot for what we pay. don't think we could afford to buy at the mo.

I rent from the council. I love it, they are good landlords where we are! And if anything goes wrong, they are there but I'm still able to decorate as I want to and they aren't nosey and round every 6 months or anything! I'm not even that bothered about owning the house, but I am glad that in a few years I'll have the 'right to buy' if I can afford to.

Privately rent, we have an amazing landlord who hasnt put our rent up once in 3 years, never comes to check up on the property but is available at the drop of a hat if something goes wrong, he has no issues with us decorating putting pictures up or anything like that, couldnt ask for anyone better, just a shame we are not staying here, would love him to buy a property in the area we need to be in so we can stay with him
