I'm finding it SO hard to find part time work!

I'm looking for pretty much anything but the few positions I have applied for said i was over qualified! :dohh:

Help!

Anyone know any decent job sites for p/t??

Im finding the same problem (and also in the south east) Im a qualified teacher with 4 years experience as head of department, there are no part time teaching jobs and everything else I look at they think I will just leave and go back to teaching so really struggling!

I had the same problem - it took me ages to find a part time job. In the end I accepted something that was pretty low paid and quite a few rungs down the ladder.

It seems that employers haven't yet grasped the concept of flexible working - it's full time or nothing in most professions.

I hope you find something soon xx

I have no advice, but I used indeed.co.uk to find my job.
I found it searched many places for me eg. directgov/council sites/gumtree/shop websites etc

hope to help
xx

It's annoying being told "you're over qualified" Pfft! You'd think they would appreciate having someone with some experience and work ethic!

I got my job on Reed.co.uk
You can search by area, job type, full or part time, by wage and you can also search for jobs with immediate starts :) It also tells you how many people have applied for each job.

It definitley is difficult and I re-located whilst on Maternity leave late last year so was unable to transfer within the company I worked for!

I think it's daft how the government don't make it easy for us mums to return to work especially with the cost of childcare etc.

I have however started working for myself at home and am building my business, it maybe worth you looking down the similat route - Direct selling.
I wasn't sure at first but there are many different companies out there and if you do look into it, it's more a case of choosing one that you feel comfotable with and can relate to the products and be passionate about.

I choose the company I work for due to the family friendly products and the fact it's new to the UK so gives me huge potential to grow and the fact i love the products which sel themselves means i don't have to worry about 'selling' them.

I work it around my little girl and can work it how i want as there are so many different ways to sell and the flexibilty is fab.

I'm nor sure if this informaiton will help but just though I would suggest it as another option to look into, especially with the job market the way it currently is - more and more are considering this line of work.

If you would like to know more about the company I work for please just ask and i'll be happy to send some info but otherwise i hope this has helped a little and wish you well with everything and hope you find something suitable asap

x :)
