I have been feeling alone dealing with pcos, seems like im the only one here that has it:cry:

Im on to my 9th cycle ttc baby #1, 2 months ago my doctor confirmed that i have pcos, mild one without cysts. So basically my LH:FSH is 5:1 where it should be 1:1.

I have been taking metformin, 2 cycles down without results. After the 3rd cycle (current), i will see the doctor to get clomid and check what metformin did so far for my hormones. I changed my dose to 2000mg a day without consulting with my doctor so i feel kinda guilty for that! But last cycle i was taking saw palmetto for my acne and worked great. But i dont wanna take anything else now since i increased my met dose:blush:

Im following pcos diet, trying to lose weight. Im 163cm and 74kg, when i first started pcos diet i was 80kg. So diet is working for me but really slow.

Update: 3 months of metformin LH:FSH is down to 2:1 !! on to clomid

I have pcos. We've been ntnp/ttc #2 now since November 2014. We did take a couple breaks in there. But more than not we've been trying.

I know ltttc is a very isolating situation. I was ltttc ds for over 8 years.

Thankfully we know clomid works well for us so we will be doing our next round as soon as af shows in a couple weeks. :happydance:

Great job on the weightloss! That should help. I'm trying to follow a lower carb diet which does wonders for my pcos symptoms. And sometimes I even ovulate on it.

Hi :flower: I have PCOS, was diagnosed about 8 years ago with it. Tried metformin but I was ill on it so I came off it. I decided to do my own research and I read a lot about it and decided to keep it under control with my diet. I follow a low carb / paleo style diet and it works well for me. I was able to conceive my daughter with not too many problems so I guess either the metformin worked or my diet changes helped.

I'm now TTC #2 but I'm a lot older (37) so I don't know what will happen this time.

I've found its very common condition and there is a lot that can be done to help so it doesn't worry me so much (at the moment anyway)

:)

Glad to see you join me!

Krissie, I hav high hopes with clomid too but it's one cycle away :))can't wait. What dose of clomid did u take? How many months it took you to concieve on clomid?

Bumble, I don't get sick from met if I follow my diet where I cut sugar n carbs. When I do cheat meals then I get side effects. How many mg did you try?

Btw one of my moms friend, she is 38 , is 5weeks pregnant with her second but she got cyst removed two months ago n she has pcos. I don't understand how soon she got pregnant, literally one month after cyst. Maybe she tried some treatments but she doesn't tell anyone lol

I took 50 mg when I got pregnant with ds, 50 mg when I had my chemical in Feb and will be taking 50 mg next cycle when we are back to ttc. I am estimating af will be here between May 10-12th. :happydance:

I currently take 2000 mg met. I've been on it so long I rarely have side effects. In the beginning I had some but nothing unmanageable.

That is great for your friend. I don't know much about cyst removal and if it can cause an increase in fertility.

I feel that way often aswell.. you arent alone! Ive been taking Metformin for 2 months with no results aswell... which is frustrating because i think i put too much hope into it.. I think ill ask for chlomid soon but my doctor really thinks im young and `things will work out on their own" :/ onto the 14th month of ttc #2... im sick of waiting and sick of feeling like nothing works.. PCOS SUCKS.

I think I was on 2000mg if I remember right, I was on for 6 months initially but the sickness and vomiting just never went away

It was a few years after diagnosis that I was pregnant so I had lost quite a bit of weight by then.

The only real annoyance that I have now is the excess hair! Everything else I've been able to manage.

That's good news about your mums friend :) always hope lol

Hi Hun! I'm glad to see u here. How many mg of met are u taking? Af is due May 19 and my appointment is on that day to get clomid. Btw will u be going to get ur hormones checked again to see if metformin is working?

I think I will be getting 50 as well, but for metformin I increased my dose on my own. I feel so guilty!!! Do u think it's bad that I'm taking an extra pill?

Ooh I'll have a look into that. Yeah I suffered for 25 years with bad acne on face and back and then last year I decided enough, got referred to a dermatologist and was prescribed roaccutane tablets. They were quite tough going for 6 months (side effects are quite drastic and you have to have a monthly pregnancy check) but they've worked fab and Ive got lovely clear skin now. Definitely worth it :)

As far as the extra pill as long as you stay under the 2000 mg limit I don't see a problem.

I should check out the saw palmetto. I have excess hair and it's so embarrassing. I have mild acne but it's more cycle related.

I think 50 mg is the typical starting dose for clomid. I've responded very well to it so I'm hoping for a similar result next month.

Bumble I can't take accutane because of ttc, causes birth defects.

Saw palmetto cleared my face in 4days! But when I started 2000mg met, I stopped saw palmetto n already got two acne:( maybe I will go back on

Of course not whilst TTC... I would still recommend it for after TTC. I know I wasn't allowed to get pregnant whilst on it because of the potential risks but at that point in my life it was fine.

Doctor said if u are sexually active and not on bc pills, they don't give accutane. I will never take bc pills for sure. Also DH and I decided that we will never prevent since getting pregnant is so hard for us. Maybe after we managed to have our 4 kids:D

Golden- I kinda wish we would have no prevented. We did the first 4 months and I'm certian I was ovulating as my periods were a faithful 23 days apart. Then we decided to ntnp and within two months they were going wacky. Well 18 months later and nothing. I'm happy for the age gap we will have but sad we struggle so much.

Welcome Jadza.

I have an appointment on May 18th to try and get Chlomid aswell ! lol we're on the same timeline somehow. My doctor hasnt checked my hormone levels at all or even called since I was diagnosed...taking 2000mg/day...Just finishing AF now, which came on CD 46...14 days later than last cycle :/

krissie, first of all ur son is so cute! he is gonna be a cutie:thumbup: After birth, you were ovulating? how long it took you to get ur regular cycles back?

May55, we are on same plan ha! When are u expecting af? How are ur cycles, usually that long?
Im pretty regular so i know may 19th i will get af, so if he gives me clomid then i can start right away. Before my appointment, 7dpo im going to give blood.
