PCOS Buddies (10 BFP)

I'm pretty sure I ovulated for about 5 cycles after having him. I want to say I had my first period 2 months pp. But now they are all over the place. But much shorter than before. Before pregnancy they were everywhere 3-6 monthd, now I think my longest was 50 some days.

Thanks. He is such a cutie bug. No idea where those genes came from. :haha:

Hi ladies :)

I'm back ttc #2 as well. I've got pcos too and I am expecting it to take a while again. First time round took nearly a year but I managed to ovulate then (managing via diet and exercise) and fall pregnant on that cycle so I haven't had any experience with met/clomid. Hoping to get back into better lifestyle first and see how that plays out, but I am very impatient.

my cycles are never the same 2 months in a row.. :( not since i stopped taking birth control 14 months ago...AF is ending now... and for the first time in my entire life it was longer than usual.. it has always lasted 5 days since I was 13... this was EIGHT days! :(

krissie, did u get ur hormones tested after givin birth? also ur eating habits probably changed due to breastfeeding, that can play a big role when it comes to ovulating.

May55, 8 days! im opposite, my longest af would be 2.5 days. Last cycle i had 5days bleeding due to metformin so yea its probably met thats making bleed longer than usual.

tweetybird818, holaaa! i heard diet and exercise can help pcos ladies get pregnant and thats why i have been dieting/exercising but no result yet. How long it took you to see results? Did u have to lose weight?

No, my doctor did not want to test after I had him. Which I was surprised about since he was a new doctor. But honestly, things are pretty well back to how they were before just shorter annovulatory cycles. I do eat less carbs now though so I think that has helped with my cycles.

OOh good to know ! thanks! I honestly had no idea that Metformin could possibly have that affect and Ive been stressing about it being just another thing "wrong".

Since i started using metformin, my hair is falling more than usual. I know metformin can cause b12 deficiency, should we be taking vit b12 to prevent that?

Golden- I started taking a b-complex and I have felt so much better. And I have had less hair loss. I don't think it would hurt to take a little extra. B is one of the water soluble vitamins so your body excretes whatever is unused.

I got B12 but i think its too high of a dose, like 1000mg i think. Made me sick so i stopped. Which brand r u using?

I heard pcos causes VitD deficiency... so sick of taking supplements:((

I take spring valley b100 complex. I also take nature made D3 2000 iu. And I take 800 mg of folic acid. I don't take a prenatal because we are trying for a slight girl sway.

I know I have low vit d because I had it tested at my annual check up. It was in the borderline range so I started supplements.

My vit D was low too when i got tested last yr, but i hav been taking vitD supplement since then. I wonder if i should stop at some point or keep taking.

So far im taking; Fiber+Vitamin D3 gummies, Hair/Skin/Nail gummies, 1000 Folic Acid, 2000 Vitamin D and metformin

Im gonna add b complex and thinking of trying guaifenesin since i have no ewcm.

Hello ladies, mind if I join? I also have PCOS. I have a daughter who just turned 4 and I was pregnant again but lost my twins at 21 weeks a year ago (not PCOS related). I have had to use clomid to get pregnant both times. Luckily my body reacts really well to the clomid so I'm hoping the this time will be the same. I am not on metformin but do take inositol. I have a doctors appointment scheduled for May 13th and am hoping to start my first dose of clomid shortly after. The doctor would like to reduce my dose of clomid this time so that we can try to make sure that I do not get pregnant with twins again as they think my body just can't handle the pressure of a twin pregnancy. We only recently decided to start TTC again so I am just getting started again on my inositol and prenatal vitamins.

Golden - it was about 8 weeks of change to diet and exercise before i fell pregnant. I still ovulated late (day 35 or there abouts i think), but it helped! I did loose a little weight, but to be honest, I've got a small frame and didnt have much to shake, its just i was unhealthy.

I really wish i could remember what other supplements i was taking now. The only ones i remember for sure were a prenatal and royal jelly.

Hi Klabro, welcome. Glad to hear you have responded well to Clomid in the past and best of luck in the future. Sorry to hear about your loss, that must have been so hard. I hope things are stress free for you this time around

8 weeks, thats amazing. I have been on pcos diet for over 4 months and metformin for 2 months so i dont think its working for me. Clomid is my only hope

How was ur cm, if u remember? i never get ewcm so im thinking thats the problem.

For both of my pregnancies I was on 50mg of Clomid days 5-9. My doctor doesn't think I need the metformin. The inositol is just mostly for my own benefit because I do notice a difference on it. I don't have a lot of th bad PCOS symptoms but my hormones are definitely out of whack. I tend to hold my weight a little around the middle, but I'm not over weight. I do get breakouts but not that bad. Unfortunately we don't know the exact reason for my twin loss. Because I carried my daughter to term it makes the loss a little more complicated as far as figuring out what caused it. Could be cervical issues, could be just a "twin thing". So with my next pregnancy I will be getting a cerclage at 12 weeks and taking progesterone shots starting at 16 weeks. Just another stressful thing to add to the process. I've spent the last year trying to let both my body and heart heal from the loss. I was very noticeably pregnant when I had to deliver them and then my milk came in and my body just wasn't ready before now.

Sorry for being long winded, I am nervous out of my mind to start this process again. It doesn't matter that I've been pregnant before, the stress of "trying" always gets to me every time.

Hmm ive been losing hair like crazy aswell.. just always thought it was the PCOS.. maybe should add B to the cocktail.. I never thought id be buying a pill calender box in my 20's...lol Im taking 4 x 1000 IU a day...plus a multivitamin...

klabro, no worries hun we are here for you. TTC is nerv racking, especially with pcos.

My sister died when she was 6 months old because of fever, and then they decided to have me. Until this day, my mom never sleeps when we have fever. She said that she never forgets the moment when she found out my sister wasnt breathing, but having me after really helped her move on.

I hope your new bundle of joy will help ease ur pain :hugs:

Also my doctor said i needed met because my LH:FSH ratio is too high and insulin causes LH to go up. Maybe u hav different hormones that were out of wack.
