PCOS Buddies (10 BFP)

ooh ive never thought of getting the gummies! I should, something to take with these nasty Metformin.. I dont know about you but i have trouble swallowing them! they stick on in my throat, have to chug a bunch of water lol

I never had trouble with pills until I took a prenatal with ds. Now it makes me ill. Smaller ones are okay but for my prenatal I'm going you switch to gummies. They don't have quite the same ratio of vitamins but I figure with a good diet it should be fine.

I dont have problem swallowing pills but i just like gummies since im on diet and missing candies hehe

I stopped taking prenatal couple months ago, i felt like it increased my appetite! i usually eat like a bird but on prenatal i was eating more than my husband lol even he noticed it.

So now im gonna eat ; Fiber&VitD3, Hairs/Nails/Skin, B12 and Folic Acid along with metformin. Should be enuf, i guess.

This one sounds so good but only in UK  Vitabiotics Pregnacare Conception Fertility & Reproduction, Tablets

Haha! I won't lie I looked forward to them when I was being more strict. I have some good lemonade flavored ones.

oh the joys of TTC... ill get some B tonight, why not. P.s..im quite thankful for these groups..and ladies who relate.. 3 more of my friends announced they are pregnant today.. THREE ! :/

Ugh!3 is bit much for one day ha. Since we started trying everyone got pregnant, universe is against us:cry:

I cant seems to find how many mcg of b12, we need to take. One gummy is 250 and it says take 1-4 a day.

the general amount for an adult is 2.4 mcg.. more than that your body will get rid of. Such a smalll amount.

They make supplements have larger amounts of it because our body only absorbs a part of it, 250mcg should be enough for sure to get the amount we need.

I'm wondering if I should request a new blood work up to test my hormone levels after this last year. My doctor will mostly likely just prescribe the clomid at my next appointment though, that is what she did last time. I forgot to mention in the last post that I was originally on Metformin when I conceived my daughter, but only for about a month and then through week 12 of pregnancy. This was a different doctor though and my new doctor did not want to put me on it. Currently I take inositol, B12, Prenatal+DHA....I am curious about vitamin D though now that I see so many of you ladies mentioning it.

I started taking it 3 weeks ago and it honestly has made a difference for me that I did not expect.. I feel SO much less tired! definetly will keep taking it!

Wondering one thing for those who take or have taken Metformin...what is your doctors opinion once you get pregnant? my doctor said that once I get pregnant to stop taking it right away but almost everyone ive spoken to has been told to keep taking it till at least 12 weeks?

I took it in my first pregnancy through the entire pregnancy. But part of that I think is because I was diabetic. I had to stop at week 37 to prepare for thr birth to make sure his blood sugar didn't tank after he was born.

My doctor said that if i get pregnant, i have to take metformin for 3 months then he will get blood test to see how my hormones are doing then decide if i should continue or not. Thats to avoid mc. I must add that my doctor is a hormone specialist, not a gyno.

My understanding is that if u keep ur insulin level low naturally then u dont need met but its so hard to keep insulin under control. So if u get pregnant and stop met, then ur insulin is gonna go up and effect ur hormones which will effect the baby.

Klabro, Pcos ladies naturally have vitamin D deficiency. Definitely get blood work done and see ur levels.

Yep, I have terrible insulin resistance without pregnancy. Add in 3rd tri insulin resistance and I was so screwed. This time I'm more prepared and have an appt the end of the month with the diabetes center to find out the best plan going into a pregnancy.

I want to avoided insulin (even though it wasn't as bad as I feared!). And hopefully use met and diet this time around. Maybe add in some glyburide like I did with ds, but I struggled with keeping my blood sugar up with that stuff. It worked to well for me.

krissie, sorry hun u got diabetes too:hugs: im just so upset that i will never be able to eat like normal ppl anymore. My doctor said if I dont cut sugar and white carbs, I will be obese and diabetic in no time:cry::cry:

I saw online this girl posted her pictures, before and after pcos. She was super skinny with beautiful long hair. She said she was tattoo model. Then within 4 months, she became plus size, face full of acne and fried looking hair. I didnt understand how pcos effected her so suddenly but it was enuf to scare the shit out of me! Everytime i wanna cheat, i just remember her photos:cry:

That sounds like some good motivation. I've noticed the last two years or so some changes I'm not happy with. It's helping me to make better choices but I still have a ways to go. My ds is my biggest one because I want to be active and healthy for him.

Definitely, I wanna be an active mom.

2012 i was 140pounds, then i gained slowly until my wedding.
I tried so many diets to lose for my wedding but i kept cheating lol Especially DH is super skinny and he eats everything every minute. So after we got married, i followed his diet hehe and gained an other 10 pounds.

When i was diagnosed with pcos, i was exactly 176pounds which makes my bmi 30- Obese:cry: I have been following pcos diet since then, now im 162. Not gonna lie pcos/ttc is a great motivation so far.

Also metformin helps me lose weight, before met my weight loss was slower. Still slow but better than nothing.

Did you guys see Kim K. she gave birth 4 months ago and she is already back to her skinny body! See what money can buy :coffee:

I try to follow the PCOS diet for the most part as well as exercise 3-4 times a week, but the last month we were moving and got out of my routine...Not happy about that. My appointment with my doctor is May 13, hoping to have some more answers by then. I know my hormones are out of whack right now as I've had a positive ovulation test for 5 days in a row. Likely my body trying to ovulate again after a failed attempt earlier in the month.
