PCOS Buddies (10 BFP)

Hi i researched Progesterone cream so much for that reason but today I went to my clinic and the doctor agreed with me that PCOS can cause low progesterone and that I had symptoms so without testing she gave me Prometrium (progesterone pills) to take till I am 12 weeks :D Im so thankful! She said that if it is low this will fix it and if its ok my body will just get rid of the rest. There is one small stress even though the doctor and pharmacist said it is perfectly fine... all the packaging and paper that comes with the meds says DO NOT TAKE WHILE PREGNANT..... I imagine its ok? :S

Yes, it's fine to take it may. It's just to cover their pharmaceutical company. I'm glad they gave it to you.

May that's good news! If doc gave u then I would worry n just use it.

Btw just took my second clomid n already got big acne coming on my cheeks:( two big ones. Does clomid cause acne? But hormonal acne should be on jawline, wouldn't it?

May it's great the listened, so glad they gave you the progesterone x

Goldenratio I did get more spots on clomid and more hormonal so guessing it's due to hormonal changes. Hopefully once you taken the last pill they'll clear up x

Thanks Goldenratio. So Metformin is the usual starting point? It sounds like we are in a similar boat with the regular cycles and temp rise. I wondered if my eggs/ovulation perhaps wasn't as strong as healthy non-PCOS. How long do people give Metformin before moving on/adding clomid? I'm being referred to a gynecologist but knowing the public health system here, it could be 6-12 months. I've read some promising stories about Metformin and TTC so fingers crossed! Thanks

I'm not familiar with PCOS myself, but I know that there's my mom's friend who says that she found very helpful a drug called Metformin for it.... that's pretty much all i know about them... but if some of you are really interested in it then I could ask her for more details and write you back. just leave me a message.

Sarah- metformin is usually the first course of action. I don't know how long they typically prescribe it before moving on to clomid. But my guess is that is very doctor specific.

Anyone know if inositol affects resting heart rates? I have a Fitbit so it tracks it and before I started it my resting temp was never the same 2 nights in a row. It went up and down from 62-58. When I started the inositol it went from 58-57-56-55-54 and has stayed at 54 for 4/5 nights now I believe. Not sure if it's inositol or a coincidence. It's not a bad number or anything so I'm not worried about that just wondering if it's the inositol.

Sarah usually doctors check after metformin usage to see if there is improvement in ur hormones and decide if u need clomid. Depends how long hav u been trying before metformin and ur weight, Doctor can keep you on metformin longer than 6 months. But metformin should do the trick in 3-6 months if you don't hav other hormone problems.

Kylasbaby inositol lowers blood sugar n pressure so I think it's normal to ha lower hr

Just bought Epo since I heard clomid can dry cm up. I already got dry cm so Epo it is! When should I take it and how much should I take??

When I took epo I took 1 tablet morning and evening from cd 7-o.

I can't recommend grapefruit juice enough to produce ewcm. It was wonderful stuff for me. I drank 8 oz about 2 hours before bd. I always had plenty of ewcm.

I googled Epo and clomid, some ppl say that it's not good to take Epo with clomid. I don't wanna risk my chances so maybe I will get grapefruit juice, if I can find fresh organic ones since my diet doesn't allow me to drink juices

Oh yes, I never considered that. Maybe the actual fruit would work?

Also, I used preseed when I conceived ds on clomid.

Hey! I haven't read this thread (but I will try to catch up). I was just wondering if I can join you ladies?

I was diagnosed with PCOS before I had my first son. It took us 8 months with very irregular cycles to get our BFP, I only had 4 cycles in that time. After the birth of my first son I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. I lost ALOT of weight and when my periods returned after finishing breast feeding when my son was 14months my cycles were totally normal. I fell pregnant unexpectedly with our second son when we were not trying. The time has come to extend our family and we are on our 3rd cycle TTC our 3rd. My cycles have been 34 and 32 days and I'm currently on CD18 and don't believe I have ovulated yet.

I had a weird AF and since then my CM has been tinged pink but not enough to consider it spotting, just discolouration when using the loo etc. 3 days ago I got lots of EWCM but it was mixed with blood (sorry tmi I know). Since then I've still had fertile CM and it's still mixed with blood. I'm doing OPKs which have been getting a bit darker then lighter again. Last cycle was my first using them and I did get a positive OPK. I'm thinking I'll hopefully ovulate in the next few days but I am worried about the spotting and bleeding... Is this to do with PCOS.. Am I just having a weird cycle??

Mid cycle bleeding can happen with PCOS but also it could be ovulation spotting. I would BD if I were you just in case. one thing I have personally found with Pcos is that OPK's arent reliable. I have spoken with many pcos ladies who told me to drop the opk's because they may not ever catch my surge because of how LH works in our systems. they told me to stick to temping. When in doubt BD BD BD! ;)

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it is normal when it's not something you normally experience though? Is it something I should talk to my doctor about? I am temping also.

its always good to bring up changes with your doctor.. it didnt happen with me every month but very randomly.. when i spoke to my doctor about it both her and the endo told me they see it often with PCOS.. next time you see your doc bring it up just to see if they want to look into anything :)

I never gad mid cycle bleeding but heard its common.
Also if the bleeding was brown then it can be old blood from cervix coming out.

Girls im planning to try advanced clear blue opk since i read that it detects an other hormone before LH. Did anyone use it before?

Goldenratio yeah I did the clearblue trial and used that one and it didn't really work well for me every cycle, I got days and days of high fertility about a week before I ovulated and then when I did actually have my surge it was low fertility. Some cycles it was accurate but I felt more.confident using the cheapies
