Yeh took me bloody ages searching through the instructions lol. Its 52mm. The pictures look better bigger. There is a fly on both of the pictures but the pic isnt as clear on here. My camera wont let me get in as close as i want i was getting quite frustrated today so excited about the filters. It wouldnt focus on certain things and even if its not in focus properly it wouldnt let me take the picture is that right? Im not sure it is.
 
great editing babezone :) what tool did you use?? just the clone tool?

yer just the clone tool...and copy n paste....how u getting on with photoshop lol? u got ya book yet dummie :rofl: xx

The close-up filters will open up a whole new world of photography to you; insects, floral details, all sorts.... it's incredible. Having my set of close-up filters led to me buying a dedicated macro lens for my Nikons :)

Yes, you're right - if you're too close, the camera won't focus on certain things - and it won't let you take the photo. If the D40 is like other Nikons I've used (fairly certain it is) then there's a green dot you can see in the viewfinder that's solid when the image is in focus, which will then allow you to take a photo. If the image isn't in focus, the green dot will flash, and you won't be able to release the shutter to capture an image.

Thanks Anna for clearing that up for me i was worried id broke it lol. I cant wait for the filters to come now ill be out insect spotting lol.

Do you recommend the book you got Kerry? I think i need some help lol.

Being stuck in the house all the time means that my poor kitties are taking a fair bit of "camera abuse" :rofl:

I have Scott Kelby's Adobe Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers, and it's excellent.

how do u do the portrait shots... any editing?
 
Oh you'll be better hun!! I took half of those last year or the year before which would mean I was 15 and self taught, its so easy to pick up and amazing what you can achieve by mucking around with your camera settings :)

My portraits I process on photoshop yeah :) I process them all on Photoshop :D I'd be lost without it haha
 
wow.... 15?? you have such a natural talent... wow :)

so what do you do on photoshop to get the professional look, do u do it through camera raw, change the white balance and all that ???

Im so inspired by your photos :)
