Picked myself up and trying to be positive

Well after shock news at hospital that OH has antisperm antibodies and therefore can probably not make me conceive and we require ICSI (dont qualify on NHS as OH has kids with ex) we cannot afford ISCI cant afford anything so looks like I may never have a child - starting to sink in and feels like black hole but trying to be positive for OH as feels it is his fault and I would be better off without him !

Anyway we complained to hospital as saw a nurse and she didnt know answers we wanted and at least consultant now wants to see us - so hopefully get a retest on his Sperm and the answers we need.

Was hoping someone on this site could give us advice on Antisperm Antibodies but so far not much back.

What is really funny is Sandra sent my reading today - said I Would conceive Oct or Nov what a joke !!!!!!!

So sorry you've had such bad news but please hang in there.....if we all had a penny for every woman who's been told she can't conceive for one reason or another and then goes on to do exactly that, well, you know the rest.

My friend's husband was told he had a zero sperm count, they were shattered Their DS is 10 years old now!!!

Don't give up, it's not over

Sorry your going through this tough time, glad your trying to be positive xx just wanted to say i did respond to your original messege on here regarding your oh antisperm etc, and I know others did too, I did try to help, sorry you felt you didnt get much back , maybe you should do some deep research using the net? it has a wealth of knowledge, just be wary not all advice is the correct or right one. How about an IUI (interuterine insemination) where your DH's sperm is washed and then inserted into your cervix?

The medical proffesion do get things wrong...they would rather give you false hope than positive at times..it covers them then just in case they make a promise that doesnt happen.

Hi honey,
hope the retesting gives a better result for you both.What a horrible blow for you both and for your questions to be poorly answered like that just adds to your sense of helplessness, as the other girls are saying the specialists are legally bound to tell you the worst case scenario, at the next consultation ask them for examples of success stories in this areas and how they have been achieved.
could you ask to be referred for icsi,I'm assuming that you do not meet the criteria?
Have a wee read on some of the lttc forums as you can negotiate reductions on treatments if you egg share..... Don't know much about this myself, but worth looking into sweetie if you think going private is impossible.

I'm sorry that you're frustrated but like chocciebutton said, medical professions are not always right and humans make errors ALL THE TIME. I went through hell and back trying to conceive for 10 years and im 37 who just gave birth to my first baby 4 months ago. I can definately relate with your frustrations! But dont doubt yourself ok, dont give up!

It doesn't matter how many say it cannot be done or how many people have tried it before; it's important to realize that whatever you're doing, it's your first attempt at it.
