Is anyone else looking for a midwife?

The rotating midwife clinic and birth center I was with last time isn't the experience I want this time, so I'm searching.

I really want a midwife who feels a bit like a doula or a friend, one I can text with a question, rather than have to call and go through a secretary and talk to whoever is in at the time? Is that a reasonable expectation?

I think it's definitely reasonable, 3 of my friends have used the same midwife and she was like that , homebirth and a became a good friend and was available any time day or night by phone or text!

Oh that's great. The other thing -- are homebirths legal in apartments?

I don't see why not but can you Google it for your state?

The only thing I've read is that sometimes you might have to have approval from your apartment management but I don't understand that really. It's your living space and giving birth isn't illegal lol so it should be fine!
Except for maybe a noise ordinance standpoint:haha:

I am too! But im UK as well so we have MWs as standard unless there is complications x

:dohh: forgot about the difference stateside vs UK! I suppose I can add it to my list of Qs for the midwife.
