I'm so undecided on whether or not to spend the money (about $120) for a toy kitchen for my 2 year old boy (2 by Christmas) when I don't know if he'll like it! Do girls like them more than boys do?

Does your son have a toy kitchen? Is it a hit?

I don't see why a boy wouldn't like a TOY KITCHEN any less or more then a GIRL. Besides it gets them ready, hey boys need to eat too. If I have a boy I am determind to teach that child how to cook with the best of them.

On another note, I use to take care of two year olds for a living, they love toys... no matter what they are. At that age its mostly us who choose the toys. We get to choose the educational ones and the ones that will teach them to be well rounded. In my opinion.

I'd say go for it!!!

Haha, I'm terrible in the kitchen. My fiance, however, is a great cook!

I think I'll go for it. :) (I pretty much made this read because the hundreds of reviews on kitchens online are 95% from parents of girls)

I hope he loves it. :) Maybe he will learn how to be a GREAT cook and shower you with WONDERFUL creations once he is older. :) Then you can look back and owe it to your nifty purchase of that toy kitchen eons ago. LOL

My cousin's three boys used to love their toy kitchen. They especially liked all the small plastic food, cartons etc to play with.

i just found the christmas section very excited !!!!!
my little cousin is 1 he loves his kitchen only thing is when yr on yr 20th time of saying yum yum thankyou you will then think was this a good idea??

Ikea has a lovely gender neutral kitchen and I see both boys and girls enjoying it. We will be getting one for my little boy when he is older.

We got a smoby ones, it's red/silver/black and he LOVES it :)

My nephew has a kitchen and loves it, in my family its the men that cook anyway! :haha:

my little brother had one when he was about 2 or 3 & absolutely loved it.. my sister didn't get anywhere near it :haha: x

hi my twins started nursery last year and there was a play kitchen there with a sink cooker etc they absolutley loved it i also bought them both a kitchen each with a kettle toaster pots pans toy microwave and they love it i think its a great idea and say go for it as i sure as hell do not to bring up my boys thinking its a ladys job to cook clean etc i want them to be good at everything they can including so called "ladys jobs" i have 3 nieces who had dolls etc and my boys even like playing with dolls and dressing up too they also like to play with the typical boys toys cars soliders etc

Dec will be 3 by Christmas and his main present from Santa is a Chefs Kitchen :)

What ones do you recommend? Am thinking about getting one for Emma. IS the ELC one any good? It looks a bit flimsy in the catalogue but wanted to know if anyone has one?

kids dont really play genderised games at this age. Amelie loves her babys but shes also obsessed with toy cars and trains at the moment  I dont think it matters whatsoever. My little brother had loads of dolls and he had a pram set for them too lol.

You've all convinced me it'll be a great gift. :)

Does anyone have either of these?

We got one for my son last Christmas (he was 18 months) he loves it!

I just ordered Mason this: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3058490 plus play food to go with it! Already have a Step2 shopping cart bought for him as well. :D

My now 15 year old son used to have one and he absolutely loved it. We didn't buy one though but made one out of an old square little cabinet (I think it was an audio cabinet). Painted things on and made a little door for the oven. He has played with it endlessly. Now even wants to become a chef, hahaha, so there you go!
