please speak to your mw before the 7th, i rang triage and they asked me to nip in for a quick blood test, you can go home while they get the results and theyll just call you if your liver function isnt right

Hello again :)

Just looking for a bit of advice from ladies who have had OC before....

I am going for a final growth scan on monday when I will be 37+3, and they will book me a date for induction during the week, sometime before I hit 38 weeks.

They are happy to wait till then as my LFTS are lowering and my bile acids are staying constant.....but......

I'm incredibly itchy!!!!! I've been taking the urso for around 4 weeks now, and it had been making a difference, but seems to have stopped now! Did anyone else find this nearer the end?? I told the doctor yesterday and she just advised using piriton :( It's driving my nuts! Wakes me up in the night and i'm covered in scratches.....(sorry little rant got started there!!! lol)

Thanks....xx

I was given mentol aquasous (sp?) cream when given the meds and they have help a big deal. Could you speak to the DR about getting it prescribed? x x x

Have my consultant appt tomorrow he wants to wait until 39 weeks to induce me and I'm not happy my alt is rising again and I'm stupidly itchy what can I say to change his mind. He's relying on the fact I've had a failed induction with my son to put it off but I feel the risks of induction failing pale compared to what can happen with oc....argh why do I have to have an arsey consultant

I had a failed induction with my LO. Had to have my waters broken. Im being induced on Sunday (37+3). The reason they chose to induce me then was my LFT came back at 126 at the time of the consultants app and bile was 46. I'd ask for a second opinion hun, maybe another consultant. x x x x

my bile acids have risen from 50 something to 85 in a week and im on the urso tablets, i dont know what my current bile acids are but im definitely getting a bit worried, will try talking to him and update tomorrow xx

Can someone help please as I am really panicking myself now...the skin on my tummy started itching about 3/4 days ago, I have tried various intense moisturisers and creams and just put it down to the skin stretching as had never heard of OC. I then decided to google 'itchy skin in pregnancy' just to find some tips and I came across this, now of course I am worried that I may have it as this in't just mild itching, I am talking itching to the point of bleeding and NOTHING I do stops the itching at all. What should I do?? xx

Ring your MW and explain to her hun. To rule out OC, she'll send you for a blood test. I find using a menthol cream helps loads and try not to have a too hot of a bath/shower.

Hope this helps hun x x x x

I spoke to one of my consultant team and they've moved my induction date to this Monday. That was easierthan I thought

Just wanted to post on this thread. I've had bad itching for two weeks now and was v. worried. i got bloods done at Drs but had to wait ages for results which seemed normal. itching then got worse and so I rang antenatal day unti this morning and they were AMAZING! I went in got my bloods done againa dn got the results there and then (only a 1hour wait) and while I was waiting had baby monitored. Got the all clear and am so releived. I'm back in hospital next week to see my conultant for soemthing else and they said if I wanted to pop into them while there they would redo bloods if I wanted. So please if anyone is itching rather than waiting to see midwife or Dr and having to fight to get the bloods done, just ring antenatal day unit. They were so lovely and put me completly at ease and getting the results the same day - stops all the worry. x

little did i know less than 3 hours later my waters would go and 42 hours after but inly a very short labour that my little(or not so little) babba would be here :cloud9:

I have itchy hands that then get red and swollen and really can get quite big (my hands)

Actually have had this in the past, since being a teen but now getting it more often?

is this condition also known outside of pregnancy?

i think the condition is in pregnancy only as its liked to the placenta x
