*Please Read* Obstetric Cholestasis

Yes alt usually starts before bile it's an early indication All 4 times my alt went crazy before bile x do you know what your levels were at x

Yes, they said that my levels were 66 and that normally they should be under 35. She didn't seem too worried as it's not much higher, but i have to go for blood tests again next week.
How long did it take after high ALT levels for the bile to rise?? xxx

A few weeks x my alt would sit always at 40 odd then keep rising towards the end it got to about 600 at it's worse x

Thanks hun, am hoping it won't turn into cholestasis but the itching is making me worried lol xxx

If it is cholestasis they have very good knowledge now and under a consultant it's you will be very well looked after , I have had it 4 times and have 4 beautiful children all healthy :) follow your instincts if you feel like baby is having reduced movements at any time go to your birth centre and get checked out x this thread is brill to any questions you just shout up
X

Thanks hun, that's really good to hear :) They phoned and said I have to go in tomorrow for repeat bloods so fingers crossed they come back ok!! xxx

Fingers crossed it's stable and hasn't risen or goes back down and it was just something funny going on x

Katerdid - what were your results?
Came back in the clear!! Said they were on in the middle of normal levels, so midwife thinks maybe it's a precursor to PUPPS or a combo of the winter air and preggo hormones. Whatever it is, I'm glad it's not ICP!

Hi. Just curious if the itchyness is always hands/feet with oc? Iv started itching last couple of days, to the point Im almost breaking my skin :( Its almost like someones covered me in itching powder. Im itchy on my arms, legs, ankles & toes...x

No mine was all over all the time ! Best to contact your mw x

Mine started on my stomach and breasts, then worked all the way to my hands and feet; it was so much worse on my hands and feet though.

I have a midwife appt tomorrow so I will speak to her about the itching.... Its getting worse each night.... During the day its hardly there but at this moment in time it feels like I have been thrown in itching powder & it stings if I dont scratch it. Thanks for the replies.xx

I was diagnosed at 31 weeks and unfortunately didn't respond to urso. My levels caused acute pancreatitis, has anyone else experienced this? I was induced at 35 weeks.

Thanks hun. I had blood test a few days ago & mideife or.consultant didnt seem to.concerned but they want me back on friday for another blood test incase it was too early to pick up anything in my bloods..... So im still left waiting & wondering lol. x

My bile has risen from 7 to 9.3 this week, although my alt levels have gone down a bit...

xxx

That's not too bad for an increase for a week but if it keeps rising you may need to be started on urso x
