Positive hpt but negative at the OB

I have had now 7 positive pregnancy tests, even digital positives. I am only 10 dpo, but because I had a previous MC my doc wanted to see me as soon as I got a BFP. I went today for a blood test and it came back negative and she said it looked like I didnt even ovulate, but I have had all these positive hpts. I mean I dont think I can mistake a digital that says "PREGNANT." She said that according to her tests Im not pregnant. She did a urine in office to confirm this and said it was negative. She used one of those cassett ones, and I dont know the sensitivity of it, but you would think if I had 2 positive digitals tests, 3 positive frers and 2 positive cheapies that I am pregnant. I took a cheap cassett one yesterday after a positive digital and it showed nothing but the digital i look today was positive as was the 25 mu + or - dollar store test. Does anybody know what is possibly going on. I am bloated, moody, tender breasts. Oh and my digital took the full 3 minutes to pop up yesterday, today only about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.

What did the doc say your hcg levels were on the blood work? Did you have a trigger this month?

Ive never had a trigger before. The doctor said my hcg was pretty much nonexistant. She said it didnt even look like I ovulated. But I just took another frer to have an even darker line. I would be 3weeks and 3 days pregnant.

So what could the test be registering other than HCG if the Dr didn't pick it up???? So confusing.

Exactly! I used multiple test brands too. my husband think the blood test may somehow be wrong

Did she do a quantative test or qualitative? I've heard the qualitatives can be far less sensitive than advertised. I'm sorry! Maybe give it a few weeks and push for an ultrasound? In the meanwhile just take care of yourself? That is so frustrating. Hugs

I would think she is dismissing your betas because they are so low because you are so early on. Maybe wait til your period is due and then ask her to do another test. And I have no idea how she would think you haven't even ovulated from an hCG test. Maybe try another doctor? But it's not like all your tests are faulty so clearly it's just too early for your doctor to consider it a pregnancy.

talked to a friend who is a nurse and she said this is very common for people as early as i am. she said wait a week and go back. she came over and actually looked at the frer i had taken with 30 min hold urine and said there was no way i wasnt pregnant with this many bfps. still nervous till i get that positive blood test, but nothing i can do but wait and take care of things on my own for now.

With my 1st I tested early like you and got faint lines at 10dpo and positive digital at 11dpo. At the time I worked at a Lab so I had them do a pregnancy test and it came back negative. I knew I was pregnant regardless...I waited a week and had them retest and it was positive. Chin up, you've got to be pregnant.

BTW-Our cycles are close! I'll be 11dpo tomorrow and had a faint positive this morning. Taking another in the am to confirm. Congrats!

I agree with the other ladies, something is wrong with the medical professional side here. If a test comes up saying "Pregnant" and your tests continue to be positive, you are pregnant. Almost makes you wonder if they Screwed up the blood test somehow. I'm saying congratulations because I believe you truly are!!!

I would demand other test, maybe an ultrasound or something!! There has to be another way to detect the hormone. Do not let your doctor tell you no! You pay them and they work for you. Doctors do not know everything and your doctor could be contributing to another mc. In the meantime I would also demand whatever she would have given you to help prevent a miscarriage. I am sorry if this sounds harsh, but I am sick of doctors like that. She should have done more!

I'm with everyone else. Something seems fishy at the doc. Did she test your progestrone? That's the only way to confirm ovulation with blood work. Wait a week and see what they say. If it is still neg, find a new doctor. Oh yeah, congrats!

they said they tested for progesterone but it was non existant as well. I would think that with positive ovulation tests this month and positive pregnancy tests like crazy would signal that something must be wrong on her side. Luckily I am a veteran and my doctor through the VA is running his own blood work on his end and I should here back from them today. Oh and I took another test today with FMU and it was even darker so I know my hcg must be rising!

You mentioned she did a test in front of you. Why not take a hpt with you next time and do it in front of her so to speak. Like a side by side her test and your hpt brand. Idk

thats what my husband said to do. Unfortunatly she is off today. I had the VA medical center do a blood test and they said my hcg was 20.25, in the nirmal range for 3 weeks and 3 days pregnant, but on the lower end and they want the OB to try and give me something to help sustain the pregnancy. SO I had to call the on call nurse and I am now waiting on a response. If she doesnt call back my DH and I have to drive 2 hours to the main hospital for the military in this area and have them treat me

Yea if your pogesterone was zero thats not good they need to gibe you a supplement to keep this pregnancy going keep us updated im stalking and congrats

Agreed. Progestrone is what keeps the pregnancy viable until the placenta grows, so you need something. I'm glad you got some answers though.
