positive opk @ 8dpo...HELP!!!

Yes 62 days is really really long... but I know a lot of women with PCOS have super-long cycles. When I conceived my son (before my diagnosis and before Metformin), I had a period on my own around Thanksgiving of 2005 and apparently ovulated around Feb. 2, 2006, with nothing in between... so that was about CD70 when I O'd. I know that's not normal but hey I have an amazing little boy from it so no complaints there. And that was after stopping Provera in Aug of that year, having a provera period in August and then nothing til that Nov one on my own.

If I temp, it would most definitely be orally. I wouldn't want to do it the other way. For one thing, our DS sleeps in our bed with us, and there's no way I'd want to have to explain that one to him if he woke up lol.

I can hardly wait until you start it again. So explain it to me. You take Provera "X" amount of days, then stop for AF? Or is it you take them everyday? Is it suppose to induce a period, or cause Ovulation which induces the LP, thus making an actual cycle complete. It would have been better if I ask what does it do and how long do you have to take it...:haha: But we both seem to be long winded and love long posts...lol I do for sure.:dohh:

Oh gosh, imagine explaining that!! Oh no, not if he co-sleeps with you guys. It isn't possible to do vaginal temps. I would imagine having to even sleep with no underwear on just so that temping vaginally would be easy, no fighting with clothing so you temp will be accurate. I also imagine it would be quite WRONG to sleep like that with a child in the room. I can't even go in front of my children without a bra on under my clothing (PJ's, nightgown, etc) and although I am "fully dressed" I still wear a robe. I have 2 boys, and teaching them respect by leading by example is a must. My DH never takes his shirt off and walks around in the house while the kids are here. He sleeps with a shirt on. Some men can't but he does, we also have our DD so I love that he respects our children, and doesn't just say their kids oh well.

I sometimes hate going to my older brothers (where we went last night), he walks around in front of anyone with just boxers on, no shirt, no robe. Just the boxers. I love him, but I hate that he does that. It doesn't matter if my daughter is there or his daughters. I think it's distasteful, especially since there is the opening in the front of the boxers and we (mom, myself, and grandmother) have ended up seeing more than wanted to. Oh that makes me want to gag... #-o :? <-- yes all of that wrapped into one. But I love him, you asked him to get dressed and he won't! :growlmad: lol

So with all of that babbling out of the way...I took another opk this morning! :happydance: Here it is my friend!!! Negative..and my urine look like it should have. Not like when I threw it out. When I threw it out it looked like the most watered down Mountain Dew in the world...lol Bad comparison, some people may drink that on here..Sorry lol taking another later at about 9:30 or 10. Last opk too...oh noooo! What will I pee on now?! my hpt's won't be here til' tomorrow... guess I will have to wait or stalk the mailbox...

Fngrs-That opk looks negative to me  Your surge is on its way out for sure. And yes I will take a picture of the outfits. Well its actually 3 shirts but they have hot mama written all over them but not literally :haha: And I miss you ladies. Being away from BnB was torture :haha: Not going to let that happen again. And about the vaginal temping..yes the temps will be a little higher. Most likely only by 1 degree. When i temped orally, my temps were in the 96s. But now since I temp vaginally, my temps are in the 97s. So not really a major difference. And my DH sleeps with a vest on too. He sleeps covered up but sometimes he goes all commando on me  And when it comes to temping vaginally. I sometimes get up and go in the bathroom to do it. If the bathroom is close, its not going to affect the temp. Only if you temping orally it would.

L.E. yes I agree with Fngrs about the thermometer. Thats the same exact thermometer i got and it works great. And its at walmart. Just like Fngrs..i dont usually buy things like that from Target because i've noticed Target is getting pricey with items and they end up breaking on you. So walmart it is :haha: Hoping this means you are o'ing soon. I have heard of women skipping a month and end up o'ing the next month. So its possible thats happening to you. FXed

Zombie-Do you temp? And im with the ladies. Wait a few days and test again. If you say the line then I wouldnt rule it out. And cb digis are higher in sensitivity. For now, I would do ic's or early response tests such as Answer, FRER etc.

AFM, im cd7 today. Bleeding is still here so hopefully it stops today or tomorrow morning. Not really looking forward to having AF longer than she suppose to be here. Well, I put in my AF temps on my previous cycle chart and just what i expected..it said i had an anovulatory cycle. So let's see if this cycle will be another anovulatory cycle. Because if it is...that would explain a lot on why im not getting a bfp. I already printed out the previous cycle. I printed out 2 to show him if i would've had my AF temps in there, it would've stated i had an anovulatory cycle and since i started temping at cd8..it said i o'd but i started spotting at 9dpo and then it later turned into an actual flow. So hopefully that helps out. And then with this current chart, he would be able to figure out whats going on. Im glad I started temping because I am really learning a lot about my body. I go into work today but I get off at 6:15 thank goodness. Also, majority of the staff wants to leave and its all because of my snotty boss. I hope we all are blessed with better jobs soon. Tomorrow, we suppose to be going on a party cruise with MIL and aunt from England. Cant wait. Since i know i wont get a bfp this cycle because it seems like its going to be a repeat of last cycle, we are enjoying life before the babies come. We are already thinking of taking a cruise to the Bahamas once our passports arrive in the mail. Which should be next month  Either Bahamas or go to England. DH has been but I have never been so it will be exciting for me. Well thats all the news I have for today.

Morning MsSwizz...Good to have you back. Yea I am so glad that it's gone negative. All I keep thinking is FINALLY!!! lol I thought it was going to stay positive for the next 2 weeks. I used the last test a few minutes ago. It was negative also. With the 3 days of positives I could have ovulated on CD15 (again) or CD16 this time. I really want to say that it was CD15 my tests started going negative last night in the evening. So I started coming down yesterday morning and into the evening. FF is going to say CD16 though. If I didn't have to go to the bathroom so bad, I could have slept the extra 30 minutes. I was going to try to hold it, but I thought I would pee the bed if I did !! DH would never have let me live that down, plus we have a thick and expensive mattress topper with memory foam and some fluffy material. Bought it less than a week ago, I would have spanked myself for ruining it!! Bottom line I got up 30 minutes early like I said and it's not my 6 a.m. temp for sure..But it very well could have been the same temp that I would have had at 6 a.m. I am not going to sweat it. If I discard it, it would make my OV day CD15 and not 16. Don't know if I should at least put an open circle on it. Either way bases are covered. DH is :sex:'ed out and doesn't want anything to do with me. I popped up in the room after my shower with only a towel on, and said hey there big boy, you ready? I did it just to pick with him...His eyes were wide as he laughed, and he goes uuummmm, not really, I can't..then he let out a sigh. I burst into laughter, and had to tell him I was kidding. He looked like a dear in headlights!!! It's like L.E. says, you don't make love enough they complain and if you do they complain about that too.... I think he is scared of me, with these last 2 cycle and all. This being the worst..lol last cycle there was no 2x's a day. He had to do that this cycle though... I bet he is thinking he needs his own man-cave with a lock on the door so I can't go in there and he can hide from me

The temp difference isn't that high. 1 degree isn't bad at all. Especially when you can* match coverlines and Ovulation on FF. Could still overlay them against pregnancy charts to compare. My DH knows better than to sleep naked...lol he'd pay for that mistake for sure :sex:!

Yea MsSwizz, I would have thought that last month would have been it for you too. You guys BD'ed a lot. there should have been a bfp that came out of that! I didn't think that last cycle was annov*...that sucks. AF temps aren't suppose to matter, they aren't suppose to affect your chart any. They are just there so you know where you started at. Did you put them into your last cycles chart? Or did you tinker with this one?

MsSwizz BTW you chart link doesn't work. It just shows the thumbnail and doesn't go to FF.

I think you should have an open circle for today's temp and then see if FF put it as cd15 for ov. And i can just imagine the look on your DH's face  Now thats classic. I couldnt do that to my DH because we shower together but he knows if I give him THAT look...then he knows that he will get pounced on  It is soo true. Men complain if we dont get them enough loving and once we do then they complain that we giving them TOO much  Speaking of man-cave, my dh is already cleaning out the extra bedroom saying that its going to be his man-cave so he can hide from me  But he knows that a woman always will get what she wants so he cant hide forever :haha: Im waiting for AF to leave so we can go back to dtd normally and not just in the shower. And yes the 1 degree really isnt bad so thats a good thing for me. Oh and my DH already knows that if he sleeps naked..he is getting pounced on..heck if he sleeps with clothes on he is getting pounced on so he is screwed either way no pun intended

RE the cycle: I put my current af temps in with the last cycle to see if it would still said i o'd on cd24 and it changed into an anovulatory cycle so i was a little bummed out. And my chart doesnt work? Hmm i wonder why. Let me try fixing it.

Ok try inputing* you Af temps then exclude the temp from CD 23. It's the highest, and you can use the Rule of thumb on that...I think you may get an OV date like that. It's unusaly high honestly. everything else is in a normal range, whereas that shot up for whatever reason...Given it's not an OV temp it doesn't really matter if it's there or not. It could have been progesterone surge on that day.

Edit: I fixed my typos with an asterik...What is up with my fingers this morning? Guess I would have to uncross them to type right? Not doing that!...I know CORNY JOKE!!

ok i would try that when i get home and see what happens. Unfortunately i got to leave home in like 3 mins to head out to work. Really dont feel like going there. The boss is rude and snotty and everybody trying to leave because of her.

Orrr add add you positive opks and then see what it says...because maybe it wasn't a fluke after all.

Hi guys thanks for the warm welcome. Took another test today and I'm not sure it looked faint but I'm gonna hold off til tomorrow morning. My cervix is high soft and wet. Still getting nasty cramps and today is 9dpo. Really hoping as lost my baby on the 17th Feb this year at 6wks 3days. Feeling positive but not raising too much hope, hope we all get a :bfp:

I am so sorry to hear that and I am sorry for you loss. All of us on here, know exactly how you feel. We have all had losses. I have had 3, lost our son on our wedding anniversary 11/15/11. Then two early m/c's 2/22/12 and 3/27/12. This last one was worse (physically) than the first. You should take a pic and post it, I tweak and all of us  over lines on this thread... Those cramps can go on for months when your preggers. I feel you on the not getting Toooo excitied. Especially after losing a baby. :nope: gets kinda' scary. If I get a + I am not going to stop temping...:nope: I need that for reassurance. Faint lines now scare the wits out of me...when i was younger I didn't think about them being a possible problem. But now I know that lines has to get dark at some point or I am in trouble.

Your boss sounds like a nightmare :hugs: It's amazing how 1 person can make everyone else unhappy. She must be lonely and miserable. Hope she finds peace, so she can stop being so evil to everyone else.

Wow lots of posts this morning! I went to Walmart a couple nights ago and didn't even look at thermometers. My mom is going there in a few mins, so if she goes by way of Health and Beauty, she'll call me to see what one I want. My mom is great! She doesn't understand the whole TTC thing with testing and charting and all, but she supports me and listens to my madness. When she goes to the Dollar Store, she'll call me and see if I want any tests. People probably think she's nuts when she's buying hpts and opks at 55 yrs old. haha.

When you ladies talk about getting frisky it almost makes me want to kick our DS our of our bed lol. We don't really get that impromptu BD very often. We either have to stay up late and use the couch bed :winkwink: or sneak BD in when my son goes to my mom's house (next door). Most nights DS goes to bed when we do, so BD is not always easy to fit in. We do really enjoy him sleeping with us, though. There will come a point where he wants his own space, and then he'll have it. Or he'll get to big to fit in our bed with us and we'll have to kick him out lol. Either way, they're only small once and I'm getting all the snuggles in I can!

BTW, you ladies have made it into my dreams... haha. I dream a lot and usually remember them when I wake up. Mine was about testing with my Wondfo hpt and getting 2 pretty dark lines. I dreamed about telling you all on BnB. Sheesh. It's a little sad waking up from a dream like that.

Oh and Provera is a synthetic progesterone in high dose, so you take it anywhere from 5-10 days (whatever your doc says) and then stop... your period starts a few days later. The hopes is that it will jumpstart you to a regular cycle. If I do the Provera again, I want to do Clomid too. The Provera did help me, but I didn't ovulate til about CD50 after it.

MzSwizz... I know people say it's possible to have a period on an anovulatory cycle, but for me, I either bleed forever, or have no period at all until after I've ovulated. So if this is a normal period, I personally would assume that you ovulated. Maybe it's different for people with normal cycles vs PCOS though.

My opks are pretty dark again/still and my cvx is still high/soft so I'm really hoping to surge before long. I've still had some random spotting. It's like once or twice a day and so very little of it, only barely there when wiping. I'm not sure what to think of it, but as long as I get to O soon, I'll be a happy camper. Hot water heater is fixed and I'm sure DS will want to go to Grandma's at some point tonight. :winkwink:

Fngrs-I will tinker with the chart and see what happens. But i will just show him my original chart and this current one and he should be able to figure it out...hopefully.

L.E.-yay for us being your dreams :haha: It tends to happen to me too. And maybe your body is gearing up but then something stops it and then it tries all over again?

zombie-sorry for your loss. I too had a m/c but i had it in april 2010. And been ttc since then so hoping we get our bfps soon!

L.E. at the thought of your mom buying opk's and hpt's...People probably are thinking wow she is TTC?! lol At least your mom can go in there and get the correct thing. Talk about you mom being out of touch, my mom had never heard of a opk before we started actively TTC last year. She probably thinks it works like an hpt. And with her eyesight, I can't ask her to look at a squinter at all.

I dreamed a couple of weeks ago about a bfp on FRER!! So I understand where you are coming from, I posted a pic in my dream too. I so hope we all get our +'s. That would be so wonderful. I think I dreamed that because it's been such a need of mine to get a dark line on FRER (instead of the light ones like last cycle). My subconscious must have something to do with that. Honestly I know we all feel that need for the dark positive hpt.

Provera sounds a lot like Prometrium. I have heard of Dr.'s giving prometrium to jumstart cycles. hmm, that make me wary of even thinking of taking it this cycle. I wasn't going to anyway, but the thought had crossed my mind since it's looking like a slow rise. I am not going to take it though. My progesterone was 19 when the tested me. I think that was because I was taking it then. But who knows? Anything over what is it 3.4 or 4.4 is considered in the normal range up to I think 27 or so?

I was reading on a NFP site, a PDF file about charting and NFP. They say to consider any type of spotting as fertile. So I think sending DS over the grandmothers would be a good thing. Glad the water heater is back on track. Your DH is the man!!! I don't see my DH fixing something like that, he may be able to with help. But for now he hasn't ever had to. I am more mechanically inclined with appliances than he is. lol I changed the plug on the dryer myself. All he did was went to Lowe's and got the plug. He tried to screw a screw and started stripping it...I made him leave it alone and I had to work with the damage he did to it. But I got it working!

MsSwizz...let me know how the tinkering goes. Yea he should be able to tell you whats going on, just by looking at it he should know when OV was or if it didn't happen.

Ha well my DH hates doing it and usually gets frustrated, but we can't afford to hire people to do that sort of thing for us. What actually happened is someone (ok it was me) didn't pay the gas bill so they shut it off :dohh:. I realized it at dinner time of course and paid it the same night (Mon). Of course they told me they couldn't send a tech out til morning. So the tech came out Tues morning and looked at my stove and said the turn off was behind our dishwasher or cabinets and he had to be able to see it... so I had to call them when I remedied that. So that afternoon I pulled out the dishwasher, and you could see the shut off... Called them back and they came out a couple hours later. Then the new guy told me our water heater didn't have a shut off valve on it and he couldn't turn the gas on. Apparently the first guy didn't check anything but the stove. Sooo... I bought a bunch of parts and hubby worked on it til dark, but he parts we had didn't quite work and we needed an extra one - got that after hubby got off work last night. When he got it finished it was about 5 mins after customer service closed. So I called them today. Customer Svc closed at 7 pm and when I hadn't seen the tech by 6:30, I called to make sure the order was in. And of course the rep never put the order through. Thankfully the new rep did and we had our gas back on about 8 tonight. If someone :haha: would have paid the bill, I could have saved us a lot of hassle. It's probably good to have a shut off valve on the gas on the hot water heater though.

So the past couple days were just a tad stressful and the last guy told us that our dishwasher is now leaking... don't know if I loosened something when I pulled it out a little or what. I'm glad to have heat, hot water, and a dryer again. Oh and a stove.
