I posted this on the TTC board, but thought someone on this board might know the answer to this question. I think I messed up my clomid cycle this time. Wondering if I should just give up on it.

So...I am in cycle 2 of clomid (100 mg), I also started taking wheatgrass everyday for the last week...I have gone in for scans on cd11, cd13 and cd14...and have had very little growth in the follicles (about 1.5 and 1.3, one on each side). E2 is 157. Did I just cancel out my clomid by taking wheatgrass (because it's supposed to lower FSH, and clomid actually increases FSH)? Totally mentally and emotionally kicking myself right now.
Going back for a cd15 scan/bloodwork tomorrow.

Clomid does not increase fsh - it blocks the estrogen feedback loop to your pituitary gland . By blocking this your body will naturally secrete more fsh. if wheatgrass blocks fsh production that is why your body hasn't responded to the clomid.

Can I ask why you were taking wheatgrass at the same time?

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but I can share my experience - I got diagnosed with high FSH (15) in January, so I've been taking wheatgrass ever since (2tsp/day). In July my FSH measured 8, which I was happy about, but I know that the higher reading is treated as the 'real' one.
Anyway, this month was my first month on clomid. I continued to take my wheatgrass as normal. And in fact I overresponded to the clomid - it blocked estrogen so much that my lining barely grew, and I also produced more follicles than the clinic were comfortable with, one of which was 28mm at CD14 (so because of risk of multiples they cancelled the IUI and told us to use a condom or not to have intercourse!!).
It's so difficult to know what to take and what to do to get the best results!! Good luck x

I have no experience of clomid, but personally I ditch all TTC supplements for cycles with medication - I just still take my PNV and that's it, I let the meds do their thing.

My doctor says if the supplements are allegedly sufficient to make a difference then they are sufficient to potentially cause a problem.

Hopefully you next cycle will go like a dream :)

This is not correct clomid blocks estrogen which increases FSH and LH level which is how the eggs are stimulated.
