As if shift work didn't suck before, it is exhausting when pregnant!! Is anyone else in this boat? I'm hating the quick turn arounds from night shift! I feel as though I could just sleep 24/7

I'm not sure where you are but you can request different shifts when you're pregnant xx

I'm in australia. They try and make it as easy as possible but everyone has to do their fair share of each shift, which I get. It's just annoying lol. I'm just having a winge ;)

Well in the UK if it's deemed that shift work might adversely affect your pregnancy then alternatives must be made.
There is extensive research into shift working and risk factors during pregnancy so you'll have to have a read and see what you think.
You should be having a risk assessment in the very least, I'd take the information you find with you and put it to your hse manager.
Have a look what he government hse guidelines in Australia tell you.
Xx

I feel your pain I work one week of day shifts then the next week night shifts then following week back to days. Started with the extreme tiredness and nausea this week on my night shifts and it's been a nightmare! Hoping I feel better soon, how are you coping?
