Hi all, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me...

So I suffered an ectopic pregnancy on the 29th of May which resulted in the removal of my right tube. I was devasted as I was 5 weeks pregnant and this was my first pregnancy.

Near the end of the second week, beginning of the third week after the operation I had unprotected sex with my husband (i know!). I was depressed after the surgery and kept pushing him away which resulted in us having a serious conversation about our emotions etc and we ended up becoming intimate.

It is now 5 1/2 weeks post op and I still had no period so I took a pregnancy test (or 3) and voila... it’s a BFP! it said 3-4 weeks pregnant which is around 4-5 weeks however due to my previous pregnancy and the ectopic I haven’t had a period so no way of counting the exact week.

obviously I was overcome with emotions and rang the early assessment unit, after a conversation with them and them looking over my histology, the woman believes it could potentially be a new pregnancy and I’m booked for a scan in 4 weeks.

My question is however, could it just be my HCG levels playing up? or am I actually pregnant and it’s nearly 6 weeks with no period and due to the pregnancy being removed I am told it is very unlikely it can be HCG from the previous pregnancy.

any advice would be appreciated!
