pregnant after losing my little girl to sids..

Hi Hun,
I'm not in the same situation, but I wanted to say that im sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how devastating that must have been.

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way for a healthy pregnancy and rainbow baby <3

Millie so sorry for your loss hun. It is hard being pregnant after loss but we are taking it one day at a time over here. I pray this pregnancy goes well and your baby is in your arms before you know it.

I too lost my son late, at 32 weeks. Sadly it was due to medical neglect. We miss him every day and know one day he will be with us again.

:hugs:

I'm so sorry sweetie, noone should ever have to go through that. :( I know too many people currently pregnant with rainbow babies after losses (although none to SIDS), and it seems like a whole spectrum of emotions are normal. :hugs: Lean on anyone who offers for support.

Thank you for replies ladies they really do mean alot,I feel alone on this journey already as I don't know anybody expecting after sids,I know alot of angel mom's as I joined a fb group for angel mom's so I'm not just scared of sids but I know of every other sad loss and there playing on mind as well :(

Have you heard of the Angel Care mat system? We have them in the US and I plan to get it or I will be franticly checking our rainbow baby constantly! It is a mat that goes under them and alerts you of breathing concerns. I work for Child Protective Services and we reccomend them for Preemie babies a lot...

I am so sorry hun

I was in a support group for a bit when grieving the loss of our son, sadly he passed inside me en route to a hospital better equipped to handle the delivery on the poor planning of my doctor, I to this day feel so bad that my son never had a chance. :nope:

I met this woman at the support group who lost her one of her twins to SIDs. Same situation almost born early and sadly they did not give her the apnea machine...her daughter passed at 6 months.

I will be MUCH more of a personal advocate this time around and have found a doctor who will give me tests that I see fit, even if he doesn't. He has been wonderful and gave us the feeling of security at a time where I was not sure I ever would feel that...don't get me wrong my anxiety is through the ROOF but one day at a time...week at a time and we will get there! :thumb up:

You can just get the mat with out the monitor as well, it is a bit cheaper.

Let me know if that link does not work!

Im so sorry for your loss, it breaks my heart any mother having to go through such a awful ordeal. I wish you well on this pregnancy.

I just popped on to say I got my Angelcare Matt and Monitor in the UK online they are quote pricey but i think worth it. Its a pain to get used to to remember to turn the alarms off when you pick LO up, but again so worth it.

Wishing you a great pregnancy:flower:

I think you have to learn to use it properly and you will have less events of it going off needlessly. Also like pp said you have to remember to turn the mat off, before you lift the baby up. That can annoy some...I rather deal with the annoyance and know my baby is safe...Once they are old enough to roll over and do it proficiently that I could see it going off more accidentally as it would be harder to get a good read as the baby will be able to move around, that is when I think many stop using it.

Totally agree I would listen to the alarm all day know next baby is safe :) hope everything goes well in your pregnancy and thanks for reply xx

Yes i agree its annoying to start you pick baby up and it takes 30secs to go off you walk away and suddenly beep beep beep really loud and you go running back to press the button and not wake baby too much. But its so worth it. I never had it go off once where it was not my fault it was 100% accurate.
