pregnant again and scared *UPDATED :)*

Hi everyone, I havent posted on here in a while. I am currently about 6 weeks and a couple of days (i think) pregnant after having a mc. I didnt have an af in between. I have been having beige/very light brown spotting for the last 10 days, I was at my drs with my son on Monday and throught i would mention it to him but he wasnt a bit interested and told me i should have waited for a year after my mc before becoming pregnant! I have made myself an appointment for wednesday to see another, hopefully more sympathetic, dr. Just so afraid its happening again x

What an ass!!! That doc should be struck off. No one says you need to wait a year. They do recommend waiting until after one period but thats just so they can date you more easily. I'm 6w5d and have been spotting on and off the whole time. I miscarried in April so know how you feel. You should ask for an early scan to put your mind at rest. Good Luck! x

Hi honey. Congrats on the pregnancy. I can't speak to the spotting, but I agree with MrsC, that doctor was waaaay out of line! The only time I've heard that you might have to wait a year is if you had a molar pregnancy. Otherwise, it is absolute crap. Get yourself a good, caring, reliable doctor and throw this other one in the trash.

Wait a year - thats the silliest time frame I've ever heard. I dont think you even have to wait a year after a molar. He is a total ass.

If you didn't have an af in between the spotting could be cos your af would have come now iykwim. A lot of women get spotting when their af is due and it causes no problems. The fact that its brown is also good and means its not fresh blood.

I hope you get a better response from the other doctor. Also you could ring your local epu and see if they would scan you. Although you are only six weeks max so they may not see anything worthwhile yet and that could make you worry more. They mite give you an apt for a weeks time when they would see more.

STUPID DR - thats made me really mad because he made it seem it was your fault that you are spotting - RUBBISH!

Im on my 3rd pregnancy in a year and NO ONE not even the consultant gynaecologist suggested I should wait more than 1 month and that was more to do with working out cycles again and mentally being prepared than anything else.

I agree with the others - ring your EPU and ditch the crappy stupid patronising and just plain WRONG Dr.

Hi just thought I would add a little update... had my drs appointment this morning, the dr was lovely and very helpful (female dr, prob around my age). I told her about the brown spotting i have and she immediately made me an appointment with my local epu for tuesday. She also had a good look at my cervix which is closed athough there was some brown blood coming from it. so just gotta wait until tues to see whats happening x

Thanks for the update. It's good that your cervix is closed. I hope everything is ok. Glad you found a good doctor too. That makes all the difference! I've always had female doctors because I feel like they can relate to me on an emotional level much more. That's just my personal preference though. Glad yours was so kind. You deserve it. xoxo

Had my scan today and saw my little kidney bean with its little heart beating away! have been put back a few days to 7+1 but i dont mind as am just so happy and relieved!
