so ofcom lifted the ban on product placement and since then eastenders has been using products... but has anyone noticed that in the shop packs of cigarettes are clearly displayed?

the ban wasnt lifted on alcohol products so why is cigarettes ok.

also what are we now paying tv license for?

I didnt think there was a ban on cigarette or alcohol as long as it was used within plot and authenticity. Like Dot Cotton smoking and you cannot have a pub without showing alcohol

also what are we now paying tv license for?

You pay it for British Broadcasting its a licence for a TV not to pay for the BBC.
It pays for things like Atlas (which are the big Sky dishes) that Sky in fact use to get the TV to your house. You pay to have a non-biased media and news corporation that doesn't have its own money making interests at heart. You are paying it so ITV and Channel 4 have somewhere to film from because they cannot afford studios or even a cup of coffee atm.
You pay for TV filming with out biased.

If you didnt pay your TV licence and the BBC dissolved you Sky/virgin bill would easily be 4 times as much over night. Not that they'd have much new to broadcast either.

ok that makes sense. about the license... im not on about dot smoking or drinks in the pub as you cant actualyl see the brand. im on about the packs of branded cigarettes in the shop.
