question about body temp in 2nd tri

Hi everyone,

I've got a question about body temperature in the 2nd trimester. I am coming down with a cold and I wanted to check and see if I had a fever so I took my temperature. The good news is that I don't have a fever. But what concerned me is the fact that my temp is back down at my pre-pregnancy level. Does body temp decrease in the second trimester or do I have something to worry about?

I also wondered that i got a digital thermometer and it was below the average...

As far as I am aware its actually more normal to have a slightly lower body temperature as you go along... this is because as your metabolism increases to cope with being pregnancy your body adjusts its temperature to stop you overheating.. (A bit like a steam engine letting more steam off to keep itself cool when its overworking!)

Temperature isnt something that is normally charted in later pregnancy so as long as you dont have significant changes (such as a fever) then everything is ok x
