Hi, i have just found out that my first round of ICSI has resulted in a blighted ovum . At six week scan the gestational sac is empty and only measures 5 weeks. Unfortuantely my hcg levels and progesterone are increasing at a completely normal rate so although i know my pregnancy is not viable i am starting to have real pregnancy symptoms like constant sickness and sore boobs. I have to wait at least a week before i can have a D&C to see if it comes out naturally but doc said very unlikely because of high hormone levels.
Anyway, what has got me thinking now is about our frozen embryos. We had a really good round (in this regard) in that we got 5 good embies and 1 put back and 4 frozen 6 day old blasties. So from what i have read about blighted ovum it usually happens because of chromosomal abnomality. If the one they put back was the pick of the bunch, then what chance do the others have? Surely a chromosmally abnormal embryo would not grow faster and stronger than ones that aren't?
Does anyone have any experience with this? I would dearly love to hear some success stories from FET after a loss but at this stage i dont have much hope.
