Has anyone had one of these?

I'm a bit worried as I'm supposed to be going round to someone's house tonight for dinner and they are doing Raclette cheese but i'm sure its unpasteurised. Does anyone know? I don't want to eat it if its going to put my baby at risk but I don't want to appear fussy.

Check out this link. Might help a bit.

https://raclette-cheese.125west.com/index.html it seems to be pasturised hun xxx

Looking at the links, it seems okay, hope you have a good night, take care :hugs: XX

Ive just looked it up again and some appear to be and some dont. Give youre friend a call and just ask, you wont seem fussy hun xxx

just found this link https://www.norbitoncheese.co.uk/stock/Stock.aspx?LinkID=4&SubLinkID=69 which states that "Unpasteurised cheeses imported from abroad or made by small producers are also safe to eat in pregnancy provided they are made from cow's milk and are not mould-ripened or blue-veined." but also says "On the other hand, unpasteurised milk (from any animal) is not considered safe. In the USA, pregnant women are advised to avoid feta cheese because of the risk of listeria, but the feta cheese sold in the UK is considered safe to eat during pregnancy." so i'm super confused. lol

raclette is made with pasteurized cheese, they use either a type of emmentaler or gruyere so you don't have to worry, plus it's cooked so even if unpasteurized it won't matter

Mmmm lucky you - I love Raclette's!! Wish I was having one tonight - enjoy!!

checked the packaging and it was pasturised so i went ahead and ate it. i enjoyed it very much but its very filling and i darent move for indigestion.
